A/N: I dunno when I wrote this. But I thought I mine as well post it. I don't remember if I wrote it to a prompt or something. So here. I don't own anything.
It was Rose Tyler's birthday. For General James McCrimson it was a special day. It had been over a year since he had seen Rose. She was going to be 25. His love. He walked up the front steps of the mansion where the party was. He could hear the band playing. He slipped into the room, scanning for Rose. He was still in his uniform. He saw his sister, Donna, and her husband Captain Jack Harkness, Nurse Martha Jones, Amy and Rory Williams, and Mickey Smith. But no Rose. Jackie Tyler and Pete Tyler spot him rushing over to him. Jackie hugs him and Pete shakes his hand.
"Where's Rose?" James asks.
"She's in her room. She'll be out soon. Don't let her see you. It's gonna be a surprise!" Jackie says.
"Okay" he nods
That's when Rose stepped out. She was wearing a pink dress that went just below her knees. The sleeves went to her mid upper arm. Her short blond hair was pinned back. James gaped. She was so beautiful. She made her way to Jackie and Pete, who had walked toward her. James stayed where he was. He waited patiently for people to say hello and happy birthday to her. Eventually, she was making her way to him. That's when he moved toward her. Then the band started to play their song.
"May I have this dance?" James asked Rose from behind.
Rose froze. She turned to see James. She throws her arms around his neck, pulling him into a hug. He wraps his arms around her waist.
"You're here! It's been over a year James!" Rose cries into his shoulder.
"I know, I'm sorry. I've been in France. I just came home this afternoon." he says to her.
"You haven't... you haven't been... been seeing anyone else?" Rose asks pulling away from him a little.
"No. How could I?" He says looking into her eyes. "Before I left, I never told you. I love you Rose. I love you so much."
She was crying now. "I love you too." She whispered into his ear.
"Now come on. Let's dance!"
