This is Post BD, after SM fucked everything up.
She watches as he twirls her in the air, her laughter ringing out thru out the whole forest. Her copper curls twirling in the wind, she doesn't have a care in the world; she doesn't even know how lucky she is. Everything has been handed to her from the first day. She has family, beauty and most importantly, him. Everything Leah doesn't have and can't help but want. She glowers as he puts her on her toes and she kisses him. He looks at her adoringly; doesn't he know how gross it is to kiss a six year old? He doesn't seem to mind, they're imprints after all. Leah can't help but hate her a little bit more.
"Aunt Leah!" she squeals, running over to her. Leah grunts, and flexes her jaw. She only came for business matter, no need to bring the demon spawn into this. She watches as he wraps his arm around her waist, beaming at Leah.
"Leah, what are you doing here?" Leah glares at his arm, and avoids looking at him in the eyes. She doesn't want to get lost in them like she did before and can't help but admit that she still does.
"I'm leaving." She grunts.
"You barely got here." He says confused.
"Forever." She states. This is what she wants; it's what the best is for everybody, especially for her. She's seen the looks they've given her. The pity, the distaste, the hate.
"What?" the demon's surprised.
"Aren't you supposed to be super smart? I said that I'm leaving forever!" she grumbles.
"Why?" he can't help but ask, she's his beta, his best friend. He knows what's been bothering her for a while, he doesn't want it to be true.
"I'm tired." She says. Tired of the way you look at her, tired of wishing you would look at me that way, she thinks. She looks at him in the eyes, she sees the pity. He looks generously worried and her knees get a little weak.
"Oh."
"There are no more bad vampires coming, no need for me to stay."
"What about Seth? What about your mom?"
"Seth has Melissa, Mom has Charlie. They're off to their happily ever after, it's time for me to start mine." She turns around and doesn't look back as she walks into the forest. Her eyes blur, she hears his footsteps and she wishes, she hopes that he stops her. No need for all those sweet words, just a simple 'Stay' will do. He has the power to make her do anything, she hates it; hates that he has that power. Nobody has had that power since Sam.
"Leah, I'm Sorry." He apologizes. He knows that he's the reason that she's leaving. He wants her to stay, they could work everything out. He wants to tell her to stay but he can't seem to make out the word. Nessie watches from the trees, her smirk growing. This is a good thing for her, no more competion.
She walks away, not looking back. She lets her wolf-self take over and leaves him in the dust. He didn't even try and that's
what hurts the most. He could've at least tried. What could have happened if he atleast tried.
