Inspired by a Kate Orman novel I read, this poem is, though you may not believe it, directly related to Doctor Who. Short and sweet, finest kind, yeah?
Heroes
Heroes cannot cry.
Heroes are not allowed to weep;
they're not allowed to be hurt
by the death and misery and destruction
that others have caused.
They cannot feel pain
over the death and misery and destruction
that they have caused
trying to right the wrongs of those others.
Heroes cannot cry.
Not until in the black night,
when they are alone
and no one can see them.
Only then can they cry.
