It was late at night. Rain dripped down onto his head in the darkness. Steve approached the small bar on the corner of the street where he lived. Music from an old record blasted from the bar as many people flooded in and out. Steve strolled casually into the bar and sat down at a small table next to the window. As he watched the droplets if water trickle down the window next to him he felt someone's presence next to him.

"Steve!" Peggy said enthusiastically. His head spun around to the familiar voice. His dull face immediately cracked into a huge smile which spread right across his face as soon as he saw her face.

"I... I had no idea that you'd be here!" She cried as she sat down opposite him.

Steve didn't actually know why he was there either but he was so focused on her that he didn't think about it.

"Same to you!" Steve replied, still with a huge smile. He was so happy to see her. He felt like it had been years but it cant of been; they'd been fighting together in the war he'd trained with her, he planned to go dancing with her. He was so confused. Everything seemed muffled to him. He couldn't even remember where he was just the day before. All he could remember was entering this bar. At the back of his mind he knew something was wrong but he wasn't focused enough to know what.

"Come dance!" Peggy exclaimed.

"You know that I can't dance!"

"I'll show you!"

She dragged him up by the hand but he had suddenly realised that something was wrong.

"What did you just say Peggy?" He asked nervously.

"I said I'd show you!"

The memories came flooding back. He remembered her voice over the radio. Her sad voice. He remembered.

Suddenly, his vision blurred and everything rippled away within a few seconds.

Steve climbed out of bed as the roar of car engines growled past his apartment window. It was reality.
