Never Heal Myself.

Love. He thought that was the answer. The only thing that could stop his pain. The pain he had lived with since he was a little boy. A pain that consumed him and the pain he had learned to embrace. He thought that all that pain would never come to his life again. Now, his life was filled with love. He had a wife and a daughter. He had something he had forgotten how it felt: a family. Finally, he had reason to wake up in the morning and a reason to come back home every night.
His wife, God, how he loved his wife. She was the only one for him, he didn't doubt it. But he wished he had realized that before. He knew he had caused her a lot of pain but now those days were behind them. He made himself a promise, to never hurt her again. A promise he would never break.
The other form of happiness he knew was his daughter. She really was a special little girl. Even though she wasn't so little anymore. He could see himself in her but she was also like his mother. A perfect mix of the two of them. He never imagine he could love someone that much. Since day one, he only lived to make his baby happy. He only lived to keep his baby safe. That girl was everything to him, she was his sunshine.

She was.

He knew something like this could happen. Everyone hears these stories about someone who didn't make it back to the village. But he was sure that would never happen to one of his girls. They were strong; there was no need to worry about them. Right now, he regretted that confidence.

One morning that has started like any other turned into a living nightmare. It all started with a message. A cry for help. A team was in trouble. They were facing opponents more powerful than them, they needed help. Sadly, when that help arrived it was too late. Two boys were badly injured, fighting to stay alive. One girl lost that battle. When the Hokage heard the news he cried. He cried because he lost a niece. A girl he had watched grow before his eyes was now gone. And he kept crying. He cried because he was about to broke his best friends' hearts. How do you tell someone their baby just died? How could he do that to them?

Sasuke could tell something was wrong, he just didn't know what. When Naruto arrived to his house, he felt his fears come true. He didn't cry at first, Sakura cried for both of them. He held her close to him. He couldn't believe it. He kept hoping it was just a dream or a genjutsu, it couldn't be true. His babygirl couldn't be dead.

He only truly believed it on the day of the funeral. His daughter was in that casket. So beautiful. So perfect. So innocent. Just as the day he first held her. This wasn't supposed to happen. Parents aren't supposed to bury their children. She was supposed to have an amazing life. She was supposed to get marry, have children and all of that was taken away from her. He started to cry and he wondered if he would ever stop.

Once again, Sasuke lost his world. The pain came back. This time he was sure it would never leave him.
