Author's Note: I was bored, kind of down, and I needed an outlet. What better way to do it than write a PGSM fic? Review, don't review, hate it, love it—whatever. Well, actually, I'd prefer that you like it and review it, but beggars can't be choosers and whatnot. The quote is from a song by Tony Rich Project-"Nobody Knows." There, we also have the title of this here short fic. Sorry for the lack of originality. Haha!

Disclaimer: I own nothing.

Author's Note (again): This is my first fanfiction EVER. Cheerios!

"I'm dying inside, and nobody knows it but me."

She stood there on the balcony, lost in her thoughts. Thoughts about the past, the present, the future, and everything she couldn't change and everything she wished she could. She was young, too young for what fate had planned, but she was a soldier—she knew a losing battle if she was in one. Or two.

She gazed up at the glowing moon in silent contemplation.

She couldn't help her weakening body. She could help save the world, but she couldn't save herself. As time was dwindling down, she knew that her present life was as well. She felt so alone, but she shouldn't, should she?

Aino Minako, that was who she was. She was famous, she was an idol; she had flocks of fans that loved and adored her. Her music was played in houses and cars and every other place imaginable. Her posters lined the bedroom walls of pre-teens and teens alike. There were billboards that featured her beautiful face in busy Tokyo streets. She was cherished. She was loved.

Or was she?

She was just another pop idol that managed to steal the superficial hearts of her audience. No one knew her. Not the real her who cried from loneliness, shuddered with fear, convulsed from pain, fought as a dying soldier, and loved with false hope, because that was the real Aino Minako.

No one knew that... not even...

"Rei..." She clenched her teeth and bit back the stinging tears that once again threatened to fall. She couldn't do this again. Not another day that she had to mourn the love she swore a millennium ago to a woman, who in this present life couldn't even stand her very presence.

This Rei remembered nothing. This Rei couldn't tolerate her. This Rei didn't even like her.

And when the tears finally rolled down her cheeks, she couldn't stop them. So once again, like the night before, she mourned...

... for an eternal love that couldn't even grace another lonely night...

... but no one knew, because she was Aino Minako: a famous idol, a teenage girl, a dying soldier, a heartbroken lover.
