Kate was running around her room, frantically picking up pieces of paper to only set them down again. She was opening drawers, jewelry boxes and slamming them shut when she didn't see what she wanted to see. Closing her eyes she shuddered, her mind trying to visualize where they were. Taking a deep breath she moved back to her nightstand and started all over again. The drawer there, the dresser top, the desk top littered with papers and molded plates, the floor where she kicked items around to scan the carpeting and wood that was below: she gave up.

Charging out of the room she went to find Henry. "Dude, have you seen my keys?"

"Have you checked your room?" He didn't look up from his computer and she scoffed at him.

"No shit." She turned on her heel and stalked from the room. She went down to the armory and searched there, but it didn't take her very long since she was forced to keep that far cleaner than her own room. It wasn't like she had an office or another. Sighing she made her way back to her room to try again.

Running in circles. That is exactly what she felt like she was doing. A spinning top, turning so fast and looking that it was hurting her stomach to even trying and focus on anything in her line of sight. Taking a steadying breath she once again closed her eyes and tried to visualize the set of keys, the purple carabineer that had half the color scratched off, by her not by the rubbing of metal against metal; the rape whistle that she'd stolen off some kid three years back, the keys she wanted were the ones to her car and they were stuck on the wayward ring that was vastly missing from her line of sight. Groaning she opened her eyes again and stomped out of the room.

She was raging down the hall toward the garage figuring that she might have left them in the ignition. It wouldn't have been the first time she'd done it. She turned a corner and barreled into Magnus almost knocking the woman over with the force. Both bounced back and they stared at each other making apologies as they righted themselves. Kate opened her mouth to speak but closed it suddenly, her cheeks reddening and burning and her stomach churning: she didn't want to ask.

Magnus read her carefully and quickly and held the folders in her hands close to her chest. "What is it Kate?"

She once again open and closed her mouth trying to find the words. Seconds slowly ticked by before words escaped her lips. "Have you seen my keys?"

"No…" Magnus eyebrows rose and fell in a sudden and quick moment. "Have you checked your room?"

"Yeah…" Kate mumbled before nodding. "Thanks." She started to move away.

She'd just reached the door to the garage and was reaching her hand forward to grasp the knob when the door opened and startled her. That was twice in the last few minutes that she'd been preoccupied—this key thing was starting to get to her. She looked up to see Will standing there with a smile on his face. "Hey!" He called. "What's up? Going out?"

"Yeah… if I can find my keys." He held his hand up and the keys were dangling from his forefinger and thumb. He swished them back and forth as they jingled. "What the hell, Will? I've been looking for those for hours."

"You loaned them to me."

"I did no…t…" She took a deep breath when he handed her the keys and looked them over. "Damn it I did, didn't I?" Will nodded and she huffed. "Figures." She pushed past him and into the garage.

Written for Mika Uriah to help me get over my writers block...it kind of worked. The prompt she gave me. I think Sam/Helen killed me. Bye! ~~Arones
