I know I know, you're all mad at me because I said I wasn't going to start another story yet. But this was on my mind and it wouldn't leave me alone, so I typed it and… well hope you enjoy it. And I promise I'll keep working on 'Tears of Death and Betrayal' and 'The Man in The Moon'.

(I don't own Jimmy Neutron, but you can get him for me if you like.)

Truth's Blind Eyes

Thursday, March 23, 2009

Dear journal,

Today I graduated. Cindy wasn't there, and I'm not as happy as I thought I'd be. When she moved, she took a chunk of my heart with her. No, I can't fly to her, and I can't track her down. You see, Cindy Vortex… is dead. It has taken me three years to finally admit it. The Egyptians weren't completely wrong, you can take it with you, even when you die. She is dead and when they buried her, they buried me. This is a story about the girl, who was the best thing that ever happened to me. This is also about how you never know what you have until it's stolen from you. This is my life, welcome to the world of James Neutron.

"Oh, come on, Jim," Carl began, "This is the best day of our lives. Enjoy! Cindy would want yo-

"Don't you talk to me about Cindy!" Jimmy snapped. There were dark circles around the young genius' eyes, they had been that way ever since Cindy's 'disappearance'.

"I know you miss her, man." Carl put a comforting hand on his best friend's shoulder. Jimmy looked down and shook his head. He tried to laugh, but, like every time, it turned into sobs. He didn't feel right to laugh and live, when she wasn't around. Things were so different.

"It was her pride, ya know?" Jimmy stated. "She… her pride… why didn't she just leave?"

Carl shook his head as Jimmy stared at the tear soaked ground. He had three years of sleepless nights. His grades suffered for it and he barely made it through high school. Everyone, except for Sheen, Carl, and Libby, steered clear of him.

His hair wasn't in its usual curl; it hadn't been since he stopped caring. It was mangled, shaggy and long. His bright happy blue eyes, turned dull and tired. He had eaten just enough to stay alive. He was skinny, but strong. He was 6' 3" and 150lb., no fat, only muscle.

Carl, on the other hand, lost his 'flab', and became captain of the school football team. He had a girlfriend now named Elky. Back in the eighth grade Jimmy brought Elky to live in Retroville. (Carl begged until Jimmy gave in) Carl had also planned on giving her a promise ring, but Cindy's death stopped that.

"It's not fair!" Jimmy yelled, pounding the school building with his fist. He glared at his now bloody knukles.

"Jim, calm down!" Sheen said smoothly as he walked up behind his two friends. Sheen still looked like the same old Sheen, only taller. He wore a black t-shirt, that Libby gave him, it said "Ultralord was here!" It looked like someone spray painted it, and blue jeans.

"NO!" Jimmy snapped. "I want to believe she's alive, and I'm sick of people telling me to give up!" He turned and ran from the two confused boys. He shielded his eyes as he ran and almost smashed into Libby.

"What just happened?" Sheen asked, leaning down to carl. He shrugged.

"Just one of those days, I guess."

(This is the Prologue for this so don't freak out! Love you guys! Werewolf's honor!)
