In all actuality it's incredibly difficult when you are talking on the phone to a pregnant Lorelai Victoria Gilmore.
That's where Rory was right now.
In her bathroom.
Trying to line her lips with a new pink that is somehow different from the regular old boring pink she bought a month ago.
"So have you talked to him?"
"No, not really he's been pretty good at the whole avoiding thing."
"Ok so it's just been him?"
"Ok let me rephrase this...we've both been pretty good at the whole avoiding thing."
"Honey-"
"Mom I have to go okay," Rory said just not wanting to get involved with talking about Tristan.
She didn't want to talk about him just yet.
Nope, not just yet.
She would have plenty of oppourtunity to do that while her grandmother would be questioning as to why they did not arrive together.
The lunacy it is, Emily Gilmore, would spout out about it, ignoring Rory's pleas for her to just stop.
Rory had to attend this DAR event though.
There was no backing out.
Almost done, Rory screamed out loud when her cell phone rang.
She ignored the caller I.D. and just answered the darn thing with a humorous, depending on who the person on the line was, and awakening greeting.
"Death line, how would like to die today?"
"How does avoidance sound?"
"Tristan," she spoke.
"Hey Ror, are you going to that thing tonight?"
"You mean the thing that my parents and grandparents are forcing me to attend, why yes Shirlock I am"
"Just a question no need to get snappy."
"Why did you call Tristan?"
"I just I wanted to tell you that I'm going alone and I hope we could talk, you know."
"Yes, now I do."
"Mar-" he stopped suddenly sighing.
She wasn't his Mary anymore.
"Rory, I miss you." he said.
"I'll see you at the party Tristan."
Ending the phone call aftering say goodbye to Tristan, Rory called her mother pronto.
"He misses me."
"Huh?" a confused Lorelai said, while sitting on a couch eating strawberry ice cream.
"He said he misses me."
"Who?"
"Tristan."
"Oh."
"Oh? That's all you got. Come on woman help me out here."
"Ok let me try again. Oh- he misses you. Well he should miss you. You're deeply missable.
"Thanks mom but I was looking for more of advice on what to do about the conversation we're supposed to have, not the pep talk you just game me coach."
"Don't be mean to Mommy, I'm pregnant."
"Oh Mommy Dearest! You-"
"NO! Don't compare me to Emily."
"Fine then, solution now please."
"Ok so here's what you need to do..."
