When Ciel met his new butler, he was in disbelief. He was annoyed- no, it was more than that. he was angry at the world for screwing him over, one thing at a time. He had thought that summoning a demon would help things turn out his way. And they had, really.

Just not exactly in the way Ciel had been planning.

It still baffled the Earl, that his big bad demon was shorter than him, at a magnificent height of three and a half feet. He squeezed the bridge of his nose just thinking about it. Three and a half feet.

Alas, the demon daily proved his worth, getting his tasks done faster than any of the other servants, and even having snacks prepared for Ciel at all points throughout the day, even when it wasn't time for tea.

Although, speaking of which, wasn't it getting close to four? Sebastian should have come in by now, asking what preferences the lord would prefer, and yet there was no little black butler to be found.

"Sebastian!" It's been long enough, he thinks, and perhaps that stupid demon was starting to slip up.

Almost immediately, the door opens. "Yes, My Lord?" The little child says, bowing slightly. There's something strange about him today, Ciel notices, and even his posture is slightly off. An arm rests at the bottom of his shirt, and the other is placed on his chest, as normal. Ciel gives the young butler an odd look, scrutinizing him.

Maybe it's the movement under the shirt that's causing his whole posture to look off.

There's a long pause, as Sebastian glances up at his master, waiting for directions, and Ciel tries to register his little revelation. He eventually, very hesitantly, asks. "Sebastian..." He starts, "What are you hiding?"

Not even a second passes. "A cat."

Another pause. Ciel can't decide if this is a joke or not. "Why?"

The butler takes longer to answer this time. "Because they are cute."

Ciel returns to pinching the bridge of his nose. "Go return that.. thing where you found it. You know I'm allergic. And when you are done, change your clothes."

The little butler bows, again, and quietly leaves the room just as a little black head sticks out from the top of his shirt.

Ciel sneezes, just once, and quietly curses the long day.
