Disclaimer: I do not own Big Time Rush. Sadly, all I own is the plot. They're a little OCC, but it had to be done. The guys are 24 and Katie is 17. I hope you like it! :)
It was a seemingly normal day for the occupants of 2J, but it was a special one for Katie. Kendall, Logan and James were not home. Kendall was with Jo, Logan was on a date with and Camille and James was probably off flirting with the ladies and trying to score a date like he normally does. I know what you're thinking, what about Carlos? Well, that's what made this day special.
Today is a Katie/Carlos day. It's a day where the two of them just talk and spend time together, in a brother/sister/best friend kind of way. He was the only one out of the guys who knew about her feelings for James. He was the only brother that could comfort her on days like today.
"Kit-Kat?" Carlos asked as Katie sat back against her head board with her pillow in the lap. She looked like she was going to cry.
"Yeah?" She responded, her voice cracking slightly.
"Are you okay?"
"No. No, I'm not," she cried. "It hurts so bad, Carlos. Why can't he stop dating those girls and just realize what's right in frontof him? What's always been in front of him!"
It broke his heart to see his little sister like this. Katie rarely ever cried, but when she did, it was always heartbreaking.
"Katie," Carlos said softly, getting the young girl's attention. "He does see what's in front of him."
"W-what do you mean?" she hiccuped.
"He loves you too."
"Then why hasn't he -"
"He could get in trouble, Kit-Kat," Carlos said, cutting her off. "He's 24, a legal adult. You're 17, you're still a minor."
"Oh," she said. "He still could have said something."
"He didn't say anything because he wanted to protect you. It would have gotten out and it would have been turned into some scandal."
"I understand," Katie said as she sighed.
"You turn 18 in two weeks, just try to stay strong until then," Carlos said.
"Why? Is something happening on my birthday?" she asked as she perked up.
Carlos' eyes went wide. "I never said that!"
"You know something, Carlos. Don't you?" Katie asked, grinning.
"I-I k-know n-n-nothing," Carlos stuttered.
"You're stuttering, which means you're lying," Katie pointed out.
"Okay, fine, I know something," Carlos said. "I can't tell you, though. The guys would kill me, especially James."
"That's fine...wait, the guys? You mean Kendall knows?" Katie asked, shocked. "He didn't kill James?"
"Yeah, he knows," Carlos grinned. "Nope, he's totally cool with it. As long as James waits until you're birthday and doesn't hurt you. Or pressure you into anything, or -"
"Okay, Carlos," Katie said, cutting him off. "I get it."
"Sorry," Carlos said sheepishly.
"It's fine. So, James really loves me?" she asked with a smile.
"I may not be able to tell you anything about your party, but I can tell you that you definitely have his heart."
Katie smiled. So she had to wait two weeks. She could do that. Plus, knowing that she had James' heart was comforting.
Enjoy him while you can, ladies, Katie thought to herself. Once those two weeks are up, James Diamond will be mine.
Well, that's my story. Still not sure how I feel about it, but I guess it's okay. Let me know what you think. :) Oh, and how did you like Carlos' little stutter? I saw in an interview that he does that sometimes, not when he's lying, but I had to fit it in somehow. I think it's adorable!
