Behind Every Sign
A.N.: A loved one of mine was watching RWBY the other day, and I noticed that, in one of the scenes (very minor spoiler alert) Ren was wearing an apron that said "Please do nothing to the cook." Well, behind every sign, there is a story, so here's what I believe it to be.
I don't often watch RWBY, so if any of the characters are OOC, it's because I don't watch the show. Enjoy!
Ren frowned as his eyes traveled about the kitchen. Only one apron remained in the small dorm, and with Nora around, it might not be the best idea to wear.
Still, he told himself that she wasn't that immature and slipped the cloth over his head. "KISS THE COOK" it declared to the world. The text made him sick.
Many pancake filled minutes passed peacefully as he prepared his favorite dish. And then…
It happened.
He felt his muscles tense as he was bent backwards, lips captured and making it impossible to yell for help, save for the surprised grunt he'd made has he was first tackled. He didn't even realize what was on his mouth until he tasted syrup.
Syrup he hadn't been eating.
Syrup he knew was Nora's favorite food.
Just as he was about to push her off, he dropped to the floor with an undignified thud. He felt a light breeze as his attacker fled the scene.
His brain replaced with cotton, he returned to flipping pancakes. Luckily, only two had been burned in the brief minute he'd been kissed.
The spatula dropped to the floor when the sentence arose in his brain.
He'd been kissed.
By Nora, of all people.
And if he knew one thing, just one thing, it was that Nora would never have kissed him if it hadn't been for something else that had opened the opportunity.
He supposed that spending a little money on his own, custom apron would be a small price to pay for the prevention of another of these…incidents.
