The brown-haired, brown-eyed, totally unremarkable girl walked into the classroom. No one really noticed.
"Um, so like, where do I sit, and stuff," she muttered, crossing her arms uncomfortably.
"Next to him," the teacher replied, pointing at a ginger kid (bronze = ginger and that's just how it is) in the corner who had no partner. She noticed that he was ginger and pale, but had dark brown eyes, which probably meant he was descended from people of Western European descent.
"Hi," she muttered, biting her lip and sitting down next to him.
"Whatever," he replied, shoving the microscope towards her.
"Um…thanks," she muttered, looking at cells, doing a lab that most people do during freshman year (only this is supposed to be an advanced class) though she was a junior.
…
"So," the totally average high school girl said, sitting down by some friendly slightly-less-slim girls. "What's—um, what's up with this school, right?" She smiled weakly. "There's like, no attention being payed to the new kid, which makes total sense and would never get a book to be published."
"Yeah," another just barely average-looking girl replied, munching a totally average sandwich. "This is a poor town, by the way, and there isn't a hospital very nearby. If a bunch of really rich, really weird kids lived here, and their dad was a doctor, he'd never be around, because he'd always be either at work or driving to and fro."
"Also, it's a small town, so those kids would get noticed, and everyone would think that they were some sort of weird incestuous Mormon creeper cult," another girl sighed.
"There's just no opportunity for romance, unless you want to totally exaggerate the town's average rainfall and bend the laws of nature so that if you go up on a none-too-high local mountain, there will be no rain there. Also guys that are considered attractive don't go for average girls—not even if they smell nice and are slightly interesting for mental reasons that don't need to be mentioned here."
And so Bella Swan faded into obscurity, never doing anything, because she had no idea what to do with her life. Eventually she took up with a passing missionary and moved to Utah with him, where she spent her days as an unfulfilled housewife who had weird fantasies of getting with popular guys.
The end.
