I'll be there for you Ichiruki story
Chapter 1: The Eating Contest
Ichigo POV
"What the hell," I said as Renji told me about this stupid contest where you gorge yourself on food.
I shook my head. To my surprise the contest wasn't completely for fun, it was also to compile something to help the Soul Society. Obviously he didn't tell me anymore or I wouldn't have been doing this. I woke up one morning to Renji shaking me awake in the Squad 6 barracks, where I was forced to stay until I had to leave the Soul Society again.
"Wake up you lazy wuss!" he yelled in my ear and dragged me by my arms out the door.
I blearily opened my eyes, "M'k…what now…?"
And he rolled his eyes…..man that always irritates me. I suddenly remembered the eating contest and also…another thing I hate about Renji is the fact that he stopped me from eating anything for a few days…he said it was 'better' if you want to win a competition that involves eating. Yeah right…
~A couple of hours later~
Man I wish I never entered this damn thing… half an hour in and I seriously can't take anymore. Well, to put it simply neither can anyone else. We were forced to eat like…I dunno, let's just say that it's more than anyone else should have to handle. They forced us to keep goin' though, a few dropped out so I guess to keep this going longer they had to force the survivors. Man, I wish I had quit early… I began to start on the next round, but my stomach protested violently. Shut up… I groaned inwardly. My stomach gave unpleasant rumbles with each round I finished and I ended up making it to the semi-finals. Damn, Yoruichi doesn't even seem fazed with eating this much…I'm screwed. By the end of the next couple of rounds we were both ready to finish. My stomach roared violently and I winced as my stomach started to ache horribly. I was almost ready to beg on my knees that one of us would drop out in the next 30 seconds.
"Final Round!" the referee yelled.
About time…I thought. I finished the final round, at least mostly. Just a tiny bit more left but I don't think I could handle this and I don't think Yoruichi could either. Her hands were both on her stomach, probably restraining from thinking about any possible future rounds. All of a sudden, I started to feel light-headed. Oh crap…and then I think I passed out, couldn't really tell.
~ God knows how much later~
I groaned and opened my eyes. A super bright light blinded me for a bit, but I looked around and saw Yoruichi next to me, conscious.
"Hey, you ok?" I asked.
She nodded then smiled. I quickly sat up and shifted position and winced.
"Ugh…damn," I said. There was a sickening pain in the area around my stomach, though it wasn't like earlier today, at least I thought it all happened today.
"Yoruichi, what day is it today…?" I said quietly.
"Well, I at least heard one of the guards outside…they said we've been out for a long while. We've probably been in here for at least a day."
I nodded, makes sense. If it was guards that put us down in here (they weren't the most delicate of people) the pain makes sense. I shook it off. Suddenly I could hear arguing voices outside the door, and a crash against the wall. Someone busted open the door with her foot and jumped inside, zanpaku-to drawn warily. When the raven haired girl relaxed, her gentle, violet eyes turned to me. She had a slow manner of walking, and deep inside that stride lay an attitude of superiority.
"Ichigo," she said in a business-like manner. I loved this girl and she loved me too, I know it. Sometimes I can see it her eyes. "Come… it's time you got out of here," she restated, like she assumed my name had a whole list of other meanings like go and get your sword or go and find Squad 11 because I say so.
I got up and accompanied her to wherever the hell she was planning on taking me…
