I never thought that this would happen. I never thought that this was even possible! But it happened. I had to stop the wedding. I finally imprinted and I had to be with the one that I loved, even if it meant preventing the happiness of another.
The only way that I would make it to the wedding on time would be if I phased into a wolf and ran nonstop, for the wedding was only in a couple of hours and I was hundreds if not thousands of miles away.
I loved that fact that I didn t need to think about phasing anymore, because I would have had to stay here and waste more valuable time trying to think of something to tick me off so I could turn into my wolf self. I started off running and moments later I was in my werewolf form, galloping in the direction of Forks. As soon as I changed, my brain was assaulted with the thoughts of the others in my pack.
Are you finally coming back Jacob? What have you been doing all this time? Where have you been?
Many other questions were similar to these but it was stupid of them to ask. They could see what I had been doing and what my plans were, but the suddenness of my phase must have made them ignorant to that fact. I simply growled at them to leave me alone.
Leave him alone. He s finally coming back and if you pester him, he might change his mind, Sam instructed and I thanked him gratefully.
Soon I was running on the outskirts of Forks; I phased back. I quickly put on my cropped shorts that were quite frayed at the bottom from when I cut them, and ran as quickly as I could back to La Push. I knew that Billy still had the suit that I was supposed to wear to the wedding and although I really didn t wanted to wear it, anything was better than showing up like this. My one and only love would surely reject me if I did that.
I quickly ran toward our little brick house which was not too far from the treaty line. Every muscle in my body screamed out in protest as I pushed harder knowing that I would soon be able to stop the wedding if everything went well. Finally, I arrived at the house and pushed through the door, almost breaking the door knob with my extra force.
Billy looked at me quite calmly from his wheelchair which was parked next to the kitchen table. Hello Jacob. What brings you back so soon? I hadn't expected you back for much longer. Billy said looking right into my eyes.
I need that suit you said I could use for the wedding. I decided to go after all. I quickly panted out. That run really had taken a toll on me.
A subtle smile spread on Billy s face. Change your mind? I hoped that you would. Even if Bella chose Edward instead of you, she was still your friend and you should be there for her.
Sure, sure, whatever. Can you please just tell me where it is? I m in a hurry! I stated.
Billy tapped his chin a couple of times while trying to remember where exactly the suit was. I quickly grew inpatient and was struggling to keep my temper. A few more minutes passed and I almost lost complete control when he looked up at me.
Ah, yes! Now I remember! It s hanging in the hall closet next to your bedroom.
I rolled my eyes. I knew where the hall closet was. I haven t been gone that long. I quickly ran and got the suit which was at least 30 years old and put it on. On my way out, I looked at myself in the mirror. Not bad, but I ve looked better. Quickly thanking Billy for the suit, I bolted out the door toward my one and only true love.
