Prologue
"You're worthless! Why were you even born?!"
Kaya tried to scramble to your feet as you cowered from the ferocious woman holding a bamboo stick in her hands. She covered her face in fear as the stick came down to strike her over and over again; the pain inflicted was almost unbearable. The hitting stopped and she peeked out to see the woman who she called her mother.
"Even dogs wag their tail when their masters give them food. You ungrateful child, below dogs."
Tears flowed down her cheeks with no end as the monster struck her again. Kaya didn't know what she did was so wrong. Ever since her father died, her mother became emotionally unstable. Even the smallest of things triggered her anger and Kaya were the one that she took that anger out on. One thing leads to another and soon a whole history of her so called wrong doing is mentioned. It wasn't always like this. Kaya and her family had good times and there were also times where Kaya was happy and cheerful. Her parents loved Kaya and her mother would always warmly embrace Kaya but not anymore. All those experiences seems like a distant dream to her now. She covered your head with your arms as you took the blows from the merciless person standing, towering over her.
"Get out. I never want to see you ever again. I don't need a child like you anymore. I regret bringing you into the world. I've raised you till now, you've grown up, think you're greater than you parents do you? Well if that's the case, get out NOW."
She scurried away quickly, the tears staining your face, her eyes red and bloodshot. She was hurting so much, not so much on the outside but on the inside her heart throbbed painfully. She felt as though her heart had been torn into pieces slowly and put together again so she was alive to suffer the pain. Her tears blurred her vision but she ran from you house not having any sense of direction whatsoever. She just kept running, her mother's words repeating over and over again in her head. Those harsh cold words which she received from her were etched into her mind, and it was going to haunt her for the rest of your life.
Her name is Minami Kaya, 13 years old. Abandoned, lost and unloved.
