Lucy and Kevin Kinkirk were baby sitting the twins while the Camdens were the house for Mary's homecoming. It was 3 o' clock pm, and Mary was flying in at 4.
Sam and David gently play with Savannah as Lucy looks for a decent outfit to wear.
She looks in the tallest mirror she has in a long velvet purple gown.
"What do you think?" She asked Kevin as he buttoned his shirt.
"Very nice," he said, without looking at her.
"I'm serious. I haven't seen her in eight months. I need to look nice for this dinner."
"Sam, David, I think you two can get dressed by yourself, right?" He ignored her.
They nodded as Kevin handed them their clothes.
Kevin pulled Savannah out of her crib and she giggled.
"She will look so adorable tonight!" Lucy said in a baby voice.
Kevin smiled.
A knock on the door interupted the sweetness of the moment.
It was Ruthie.
"Hey, kiddo, what are you doing here?" Kevin asked.
"Uh, Mom needs your help."
"With what?" Mary asked.
"Actually, she needs Kevin to help her to move the plants in the dinning room out so she can extend the table."
"Okay, I'll leave now." Kevin kissed Savannah goodbye and waved to the twins.
After he left, Ruthie sat on the couch and looked around.
"Who else is coming?"
"What do you mean?"
"Mom hasn't extended the tables since that last big dinner with Mary, Carlos, Cecilia, Roxanne, and Chandler. Who's coming now?"
"Well, Martin, Rose, you and Kevin, and everyone else, I guess. Plus Mary."
"Right..."
"Do you need help?"
"With what?" Lucy looked up, surprised.
"You know, with Sam and David. Or Savannah. I don't really have anything to do."
"Oh, no, I'm fine-"
"How do we look?" Sam said, as they walked out of the bathroom.
"Very nice," Lucy caught herself repeating what Kevin said.
The boys were formally dressed in black tuxedos and shoes, and both had their hair combed back.
"Ready to go, boys?" Ruthie asked.
They nodded, and she took them home.
