"What do you want me to do, Dinah?" Connor asked, leaning against the oven.

"I need you to find Sin and bring her home." Dinah explained. "When Oliver had you kidnap her, he never bothered to learn where you had taken her. You know that the only reason I've spent the past year with him is because I've been hoping to coax the information out of him, but that jerk didn't even bother to write down where he put my daughter."

Pausing for a moment, Dinah took a sip of her hot watermelon tea.

"I need you to find Sin and get her home quickly. Since Talia's death, the League of Assassins has been chaotic, and is looking for new recruits. Sin is already a martial-arts expert used to being treated like crap. I don't know if she'll be high on their priority list, but I do know she'll be on it."

Dinah took another sip of her tea, steeling herself.

"I want to go with you more then you can imagine, but the League-that's the Justice League of America-, needs me here."

As she went to take finish her cup, she stole a glance at Connor. She noticed something behind him, and jumped up, running towards him and flicking off the surface burners of the stove.

"Jesus Connor, I told you, you have to watch out for these things!" Dinah yelled, watching the burns on his hand heal in front of her.

Connor distractedly shoved his hands into his jean pockets. Dinah leaned against the stove with him, feeling the heat from it on her leather jacket.

"Connor, this is more dangerous then you can understand. Looking for Sin will be like looking for a needle in a haystack, the League of Assassins may be tracing your ever step in hopes of beating you to Sin, and God knows what else will be after you."

Dinah turned and stared straight into his eyes. In spite of their height difference, Connor felt dwarfed by her intensity.

"I can't expect you to agree to this, but will you?"

Connor stretched his arms a little, apparently thinking it over.

"Okay" He said abruptly. Dinah's face lit up like Cassandra's on Christmas. She grabbed Connor in a hug with startling strength for a few seconds before she noticed how awkward he felt. Letting go, they stood stiffly for a few seconds until Dinah's JLA communicator started to emit an annoying, high-pitched beep.

"I've got to go; apparently Amazo has broken into the League HQ. Again." She said, reading off the screen.

Watching Dinah run off, Connor stood still for a few seconds longer before he started to make his way over to his bed. He had discovered that straining his recently developed healing factor tired him out when he was with Mia, taking on the Red Dart when he was shot through the chest several times and fell asleep. As he was laying down for a brief power-nap, he thought to himself what a clever woman the Black Canary was.

Needle in a haystack. I'll have to write that one down.

Hey guys! This is my first chapter in a fic that's based off the events of Green Arrow/Black Canary. I'm a big Connor fan who's pissed as hell about what Winick did to him, and fanfiction is my catharsis. Reviews and thoughts are always loved!
