To make one thing clear, I don't know how to properly use fishing things like "casting the rod". I don't even know if I used that correctly! ^_^' But this is just for fun, so don't criticize me for that! Please Review and enjoy~!
"Go, Fishing Rod!" Yellow exclaimed, and cast her rod at the river. Ratty, her Raticate, sat nearby, eagerly watching the lure bob in the river, and waited for a bite.
"Hey! I got a bite!" The Healer yanked back the pole, and a Poliwag emerged from the water. She immediately set it free, though. She did not want to catch the Pokémon. She only wanted to fish for fun on this lazy summer day. Yellow sat back and cast the rod in again.
"We've been at this for hours..." Yellow said to Ratty while trying to suppress a yawn. The sun was beginning to set and she would have to go home soon. Ratty chattered something in its language. "Yeah, you're right. This is too much fun— just a few more, okay?" Once again, she cast the rod.
The bait went under— Yellow quickly pulled back. A glimmer flashed in her eyes. Probably the sun. she thought. But the sun was in the west— behind her! So what did she hook up?
"Oh my gosh!" Yellow gasped. "A light blue Poliwag!" She jumped to her feet in shock.
The rare Poliwag looked like it was about to hop back in the river at any moment. Yellow thought she should let it go, but she wanted to catch it so badly and show Red! She quickly decided to catch it, show Red, and then set it free.
"Kitty, Sleep Powder!" Yellow cried, tossing her Butterfree's Poké Ball. Kitty flapped his wings and covered the Poliwag in a green dust that quickly put it to sleep. While it snored, Yellow rummaged through her things and, to her relief, found a Net Ball. A Net Ball was a Poké Ball that was useful for catching Water-Types. Not wanting to waste a moment, Yellow threw the Ball at the Poliwag. It tapped it on its head, and it was inside. Crossing her fingers and biting her lip— for this was the only Poké Ball she had with her— she watched for ten tension-filled seconds (which seemed to take ten agonizing hours) as the Ball rolled and shook until it finally grew still. The Ball made a clicking sound, and Yellow knew she had successfully captured the Poliwag.
She walked over and picked up the Ball. The Poliwag was still fast asleep. She decided to take it to the Pokémon Center just in case she had hurt it by mistake. On the way, though, she couldn't help but jump up and down a bit with excitement that she had caught a rare Pokémon! Red was going to be so impressed!
