Movies

Rachel shoved her hand into the bowl of popcorn on her lap, not taking her eyes from the screen.

She absentmindedly pushed the popcorn toward her mouth, transfixed by the film, and a few pieces missed her mouth and landed in the hair of one Quinn Fabray, sitting with her head resting on Rachel's chest.

Quinn frowned and looked up at Rachel, "I don't think I need butter in my hair, Rach."

"Huh?" Rachel mumbled, still watching the movie.

Quin brushed the pieces of popcorn from her hair and set the bowl of the buttery snack on the coffee table.

Rachel felt around for the bowl, and stopped watching the movie long enough to look around for it.

"I've never seen someone get so into Titanic." Quinn said.

Rachel rolled her eyes, "Don't be complaining, my little Cheerio. You're the one who suggested it."

"I didn't suggest having popcorn dropped on my head, man-hands." Quinn retorted.

The nicknames that had once been scornful were now little compliments between Quinn and Rachel that only they understood.

Rachel took a handful of popcorn, eyed it, then looked at Quinn. Quinn's eyes widened in realization, "Don't even think about it, Rach!"

"Too late." Rachel responded and threw the popcorn at Quinn.

A few pieces stayed in Quinn's hair, so she threw her own handful of popcorn at Rachel.

Soon the two of them were giggling idiotically, tossing popcorn about and shrieking with laughter like young children.

When Rachel fell back on to the couch and kissed Quinn softly on the lips several minutes later, she was red-faced and breathless.

"I missed some of the movie." Rachel told Quinn.

Quinn rolled her eyes and kissed Rachel again, "I'll make it up to you later, but we have a bigger problem right now."

"What's that?" Rachel asked.

Quinn pointed at the room, popcorn scattered everywhere, "What are we going to do about that?"

"Okay." Rachel said, clapping her hands together, "This is what we tell my dads. We were sitting watching a movie when the TV came alive-"

Quinn smiled and leaned back against the couch as she listened.
