Disclaimer: Marvel is King; I only work here so don't sue.
King of sorrow is from Sade's Lovers rock CD.
The X-Men were sitting at their usual table at Harry's Bar. They had taken care of all the big bads and were just out for a night of fun.
Everyone was there. Warren and Betsy were sitting close looking into each other's eyes. Jean and Scott were on stage singing an old B52's song together, it was karioki night. Rogue, Logan and Remy were sitting at the table laughing at some joke that Remy was telling them. Jubilee and Bobby were talking and laughing. And Ororo, she was sitting at the other end of the table sipping her club soda, alone.
Her friends and family surrounded her but she felt alone. 'If I walked out right now would they even notice or care?' she thought to her self, 'Do they even see me?' She was the conscience of the team, she would listen to all of there problems and help them in any way she could. But where were they when she needs them?
It was getting late and the MC called for the last song to be sung. Ororo stood up and walked over to the MC and told him what to play.
She looked so beautiful up on stage. Her long white hair softly waved and flowing down her back and her eyes a watery blue color. And she had on a short, black dress.
When the music started to play she started to sway slowly to the music and then she started singing.
Everyone stopped and turned to see who was singing. It was a sad song and the voice singing it was beautiful and sad.
I'm crying everyone's tears
And there inside our private
War I died the night before
And all these remnants
Of joy and disaster
What am I suppose to do
I want to cook you a soup
That warms your soul
But nothing would change
Nothing would change at all
It's just another day that brings
It all about
Just another day
And nothing's any good
The DJ's playing that same song
I have so much to do I have to
Carry on
I wonder if this grief will
Ever let me go
I feel like
I am the King
Of sorrow
The king of sorrow
Ororo closed her eyes as she swayed to the music. She could feel all eyes on her but she didn't care, she had to do this. She had to let it out.
I suppose I could just walk away
Will I disappoint my future?
If I stay
It's just a day that brings
It all about
Just another day
And nothing's any good.
She looked so beautiful and sad. Her long white hair hanging in waves down her back. Her short black dress clinging to her every curve and her eyes a watery blue.
The DJ's playing the
Same song
I have so much to do
I have to carry on
I wonder will this grief
Ever be gone
Will it ever go?
I'm the king of sorrow
The king of sorrow
I'm crying everyone's tears
I have already paid for all
My future sins
There's nothing anyone
Can say to take this away
It's just another day
And nothing's any good
All the X-Men stared at her with tears in there eyes, ashamed and hurt. She had always been there for them and they hadn't even noticed she was hurting.
I'm the king of sorrow
King of sorrow.
As she finished her song the whole room cheered and clapped. But the X-Men hung there heads and exchanged sad looks to one another.
When she sat down at their table all eyes were on her but she paid them no mind as she sipped her drink.
"Ro, were sorry." Logan had leaned over and whispered in her ear.
"Do no feel sorry for me," she told him in return. "I'm the King of sorrow."
And the sky broke and rained down on the earth and the heavens cried for its Goddess.
