Letters
The box that Minerva McGonagall had in her hands was beautifully made out the rarest and most expensive wood in existence.
You would think that in that box she kept something of great historical or monetary value but that was far from the truth the box contained something really important to her but to anyone else they did not have any value.
Inside the box, they were letters old ones that had been written so long ago that to her it was more like a different life.
The letters were written for her as a joke at first by a student that she cared much more than any other before (not that she would tell anyone that) but later they became a tradition between them.
She still remembers the first time those letters came.
It was breakfast time and an owl she did not know arrived with a letter that was written with writing she did not know but looked really familiar.
The letters continued for days and days until making not only her but even the teachers and other students curious. One day she discovered the truth the letters were sent to her by her favorite student not that she would ever admit that Sirius Black was that.
The day she discovered who that the person was she should have been angry or upset but instead, she was flattered and that surprised her a lot. He always looked like he had not one care in the world but in fact, he cared a lot he had heard that her father with whom she was really close to had died and had sent the letters to cheer her up and surprisingly they had worked.
After that, the letters were sent every day at the same hour and never signed by name instead they had the drawing of a particular star drowned was the name was supposed to be.
That particular star was the Sirius star that way he could sign his name without actually doing it.
The letters continued even after he graduated from Hogwarts and joined the Order of the Phoenix, he always found the time to write her a letter every day. During those days the letters were shorter and not as full of information as they used to be but they were still there and during the times where she would be without information from him for a long time, the letter told her he was still ok.
The letters stopped coming in the morning of November second the day he was arrested in the last letter he told her that he had not done anything that was something she believed and would believe even if he had not said it because she knew him and knew he would never do something like that.
They started again the day he escaped from Azkaban telling her again that he was innocent and asking her to protect Harry when latter Albus told her he was innocent but the Ministry would not believe she cursed the Minister so much that everyone was shocked by that.
Letters ended again this time to never start again when Sirius died that was the first day in many, many years that she had cried she had not even cried when her husband had died years prior.
A few days later she put those letter in this exact box all of them and reads them every time she gets nostalgic but those letters won't be in her possession for long because of the fact that she plans to give them to Harry who was like a son to Sirius like Sirius was like a son to her.
She only hopes he likes them after all, they are her most prized possession in the whole world.
