Prim was strong. Always had been. But the difference from she and her sister was that she was strong in the mind. She kept her sanity in the worst times, she rarely lost her cool.
Prim cried, Prim allowed herself to be sad. She saw no reason not to. She allowed herself to be herself. Most people saw this as a weakness, but in reality it was the key. The key to her treasure chest of sanity. No one could unlock.
Prim watched the 74th and 75th Hunger Games with her mother and Gale, she watched as Katniss killed, she watched as Katniss suffered, she watched and she knew if her sister hadn't volunteered Primrose Everdeen would be just another dead girl from District 12. Nothing special.
Prim watched as Gale became more and more frustrated, she watched as her mother practically clung to the television watching every move Katniss made. Prim watched, she took in everything around her. She cried everyday. But she stayed sane.
Not even the day of the bombing did she lose herself in the slightest. She'd ran, just like everyone else.
And when she moved into District 13 she took the vast pool of information and truth in with an open mind. She would examine Katniss from time to time. It scared her, the fact that such a strong willed girl like Katniss could be turned into... into this pitiful shell.
Katniss had been like a crab, Prim would cringe at her analogy but she knew no other way to put it, Katniss had been a crab. Strong, hard to break, and she could definitely hurt you. But then she was cracked open, her soul and mind eaten, and a hollowed shell had been returned in her place.
Prim wondered sometimes if they could break her too. Maybe physically, but mentally, emotionally?
So Prim tried to help the girl. Wanting nothing more than her sister back, her strong sister who rarely showed the world that she could be a loving person. Prim didn't know if that person would ever come back.
The day Katniss' squad disappeared, Prim's schedule had been to train in the trauma center all day. She was told by Nurse Lyra, the woman seemed quite distraught herself. Prim had gone home that night with an upset stomach, worry clouding her mind.
And what seemed like a life-time later when she was deployed to help the survivors of the bombing Prim's stomach was finally put at ease, the sight of her sister running towards her.
"Katniss!" Prim hoped this was the beginning of the end of the Mockingjay. She hoped Katniss would get better.

And then she died... Well that's all. I love her last thoughts are for the wellbeing of Katniss.
