Lucas remembered every girl he'd ever kissed since coming on SeaQuest. They played in his mind as he struggled to breathe. Finally his mind came to rest on his wife. The one he'd promised to love forever. As Lucas took his last breathe, his mind wasn't on any of those other girls. It wasn't on his family or his friends. It was of her beautiful face and her sweet smile. He heard her laugh and the sound of her voice as they debated science. He heard her singing to Darwin when he was sick. Her voice had brought peace to a sick dolphin and brought that same peace to a dying man.

They say to die alone is to die unhappy. But then again, Lucas Wolenczak was always the exception.
