Hi. My name is Nola Munroe. I was born in Freeland and lived there for most of my teenage life. I had a mother and father and they were cool, but living the life they wanted me to live bored me. I wanted something else, I wanted power over my life completely. So after a life of vicious training and basically signing my soul over, I became a freelancer by the name of Serenity, Seren, for short.

Freelancers are what our organization of assassins were called. Jobs were posted on a secret app for us and we could choose certain jobs. If multiple assassins wanted the job, the hiring employer could read our resumes created by our bosses at Freelance Inc. That was my exciting double life. I took jobs, I got paid, and I lived my own life of luxury which was just a nice condo on the outskirts of Freeland. I was happy, I was content. If I wanted something, I got it. I had no connections with my family so my company didn't know about them. They were safe.

So what made this Monday, an unusual day for me, you may ask? Well it started with my Zumba instructor running late. I was a woman who ran on time and had numerous assignments to do this week and I needed something fun to do before I got down to business. I liked my routines and hated many who somehow threw me off these routines, whether it was intentional or not. As the quick and spicy music stopped, I moved over to the wall with the other girls and we gathered our bags.

"Woah Seren, you were on point with every change up." Leila, a high school teacher at Garfield High. She's married to Dr. William Crawford and has two kids, Michael and Aaron. I gave a gentle smile.

"Thank you, I have been really getting into this class." I replied.

"And you were nervous you weren't going to be able to keep up." Callie said. She's a really rich girl, who gloats about being woke about the social and racial issues in the city, but is a complete airhead as well. She's married to Jason Martell, a business owner, who is having an affair with a Cuban maid who works at the Bodies Hotties Mocha Chocalotties coffee shop. Her name is Gabriella and she's eighteen.

"You are definitely right." I said to her. Leila looks uneasy suddenly as she motioned her head forward.

"Hey there's some girl watching you Seren." she said, and I followed her eyes to the door of the room, to see none other than Syonide standing there in a revealing black dress, her hair in a tight bun. Her eyes were sharp as they remained on me and I threw my bag over my shoulder. I had one of my glocks inside at the bottom, but from how she was standing, I could tell she was not looking for a fight just yet. I had a feeling that I knew why she was here.

"Oooh a secret admirer. Seren, I didn't know you were into women." Callie said with a devious and secretive look. I ignored the feeling of rolling my eyes.

"I'm not. I'll catch you guys later." I said and separated from them and moved over toward the door standing before her. She was glaring as I got closer.

"Why haven't you returned his texts?" she asked, and I stared at her hard as I just waited for the room to clear. She had some man-sized balls to really even ask that here. What was he moping?

"Do not tell me he sent you here for that." I stated. "You had better be joking." Her face stiffened.

"You had better give me an answer." she replied and I sighed.

"The phone he has been texting is not for his desires of me. My bosses can read anything I text and can hear my phone calls, my phone is NOT for that. He should know better. If he has a job for me, he can put it out on the site, or send me a private message on my profile. When he hires me, he is allowed to message or call me when he needs updates." I said, and she's shaking her head as I explain.

"Cut the bullshit!" she snapped and I stiffened, my hand tightening on my gym back. She inhales some before looking away as if embarrassed or withdrawn. "I thought you liked him." My eyes softened a bit at her words. I could tell it was hard for her to even say what she said with a such weakness.

"It's not about what I like. I don't mix business and pleasure." I replied. There was a buzzing on my phone now and she suddenly smirked and I watched her for a moment before reaching in my bag and pulling out my phone. It was an assignment from the man himself.

"Well now you do." she said and turned and walked out the room. It's a stand in job from Tobias Whale himself. He needs a date for the opening of one of his new clubs tonight. Price: 50,000 for the entire night. I stiffened as I stared at my phone. Accept or Reject. I pressed the green lit font of Accept.

I had met Tobias Whale last year and have done a few assignments for him mostly surveillance work and quickly lines were crossed.

I remember being dropped off at a large condo. Quite fancy actually, but it was secluded. Maybe this was his hideout. I was in a teal off the shoulder dress and brown boots by Clarks. My hair was down and in nice waves and I moved up the towards the doors of the condo which were guarded by two men in black. I did enough research on the 100 gang to be cautious. They opened the doors for me and a peach skinned woman with dark curls was waiting for me.

"Seren." she said and I nodded stepping inside giving a comfortable smile.

"Yes. Syonide, I presume. It's nice to meet you." I replied and she arched a brow.

"Wish I could say the same." she said and I looked her over and lifted my head some.

"I respect your honesty." I responded and she gave a vicious smirk before turning and walking down the hall. I followed in silence until we were in a large room. There were sofas and a large fish tank filled with what looked like piranhas.

"Make yourself comfortable. He will be with your shortly." she purred before turning and walking to the side and down a white hallway. I slowly stepped in taking in the room around me. There was a large black desk with a large chair behind it and I knew that was most likely where Mr. Whale sat and ruled over the city from. I brought my attention back over to the tank and looked at the numerous fishes. I wondered what he fed them.

"Rats!" I heard a smooth voice say, and I leaned back and turned to see a fine suited man standing behind me, hands clasped together. "I feed them rats." I had heard many things about Tobias Whale. He was a dangerous man, he deserved to be feared. But I didn't know he was an albino. He had such a dominating stance, that he almost reminded me of a male silver back gorilla. He walked closer to me and I could take in the tighter features of his face. His beard is shaped and no hair touched his head. Once we were standing close enough, I got a chance to see his dark yet shaking eyes. I blinked a few times noticing he was quite a large man to my smaller size and was definitely intimidating. He gave a chuckle.

"You must be Seren my freelancer." he said raising his hand and I took it. He shook it for a split second before smiling more. "You have soft hands." I nodded at him.

"I am… and thank you so do you." I said and he chuckled more and released my hand.

"So on to business then." he said moving over to his desk and he motioned me to join him and sit down on the chair across from of which I did. "Your profile is quite impressive. You know not a lot of outside hitmen take on my assignments. My reputation is a little too fearing." I nodded.

"Some people are afraid to challenge themselves." I replied and he smirked tilting his head some.

"Is that what you think this is, a challenge? Because best believe if you fail, I will have no issue putting a bullet in your head." he said seriously and I stared at him for a moment more, showing that I didn't scare so easily.

"Of course. Mr. Whale. I am here to do what you want me to do. But I have rules as you have read on my profile." I said and he leaned back in his chair waving me off almost.

"Yes yes. You don't kill women or children and no meta humans. I can see why, they'd easily kill you." he said as if my words bored him and I nodded.

"Excellent. You need me to kill a cop who is digging too close to you and could express to others that you are alive." I replied and he nodded.

"You've read my case. Can't have any of my guys do it or it'll clearly look like I've come back." he said and I nodded.

"Do you have a deadline?" I asked and he nodded.

"Asap, immediately, right away." he replied and I looked down at his words before nodding.

"I will see it done." I said. "Is there anything else, Mr. Whale pictures of his death, maybe a body part?" He chuckled lowly.

"Girl you're cute. Bring me a picture and you'll be on my good side." he said and I nodded slowly.

"Alright." I replied standing up. "You have my contact information as I have yours I will contact you when it is done." He nodded and stood up and walked back the desk.

"It's a pleasure doing business with you, Ms. Seren. I hope you impress me so you can work for me some more in the future." he said holding up his hand to me and I smiled.

"You will be impressed, Mr. Whale." I merely replied and took his hand. Only this time he curled his fingers around my palm and kissed the top of it.

"Please. Call me Tobias."
