Author's Note: This is a direct sequel to Infinite Winters. I suggest you read that first before this.
AU: Eternal Inferno
Part 1: Fire
Anna had a long night, placing posters on the streets. Her sister Elsa has been missing for weeks now and she has never receive any calls. For the first time in her life, she felt so alone. She began to think about other scenarios. If she went to her sister first before going to the concert, she could take her there safely.
Who would take you, Elsa? Anna thought. She knew about her powers since they were kids. But after hearing the news of the government taking superhumans, Anna began to worry. Did they got you? She thought.
But then there was a knock at her door.
It could be someone who knew her sister's whereabouts.
Anna quickly ran to answer the door. She opened it with a smile. "Did you find her?" However, it was not she was expecting. It was a man wearing a dark trench coat and hat, standing on her doorsteps. He grunted when he saw her. The streets were silent but bright because of the noon sun.
"Um, hello..." Anna said. "Do you have information about my sister's location?"
"No." The man answered with a deep tone. "But I'm here for you."
"W-why?" She took a step back, feeling threatened.
"I'm here to save you."
"What?"
Before she get a clear answer, something dropped behind the man. He turned and block Anna, protecting her. She took a peek and saw a woman in a white dress. Her blue eyes stared directly at her. Anna can feel strong emotions by looking at those eyes. "Who is that?"
The man commanded her, "RUN!"
The white woman waved her hand and casted three large crystals. She threw them towards the man who used his entire body to protect Anna. The young woman was shocked to see him struck down to death but she did what he told her to do. She ran to the backdoor and away from the apartment. In the streets, she took a quick turn and went to the narrow alleyway.
The white woman entered the apartment and saw the missing posters of Elsa. She smirked when she learned how desperate the woman was to find her sister.
Elsewhere, their relationship has turned complicated when Prince Anton's knights saw them together. Krista the Red Witch tried to leave the scene slowly while the prince explained.
One of the knights yelled at her. "Hey! You're not going anywhere!"
The prince retorted, "You're right. She's not going anywhere. This castle will be her new home."
"WHAT?" The knights and the witch were surprised by his words.
Krista was unsure if these knights were loyal to his commands. Anton was not officially the crowned prince of the kingdom and these knight were only loyal to the late prince Elias for now until Anton takes the crown. "Are you sure about this?"
"I'm sure." He commanded his knights. "On this day, you treat Krista like the way you treat me and Elias. You obey my command. Promise me that you would never harm her or even lay a finger on her."
"Yeah." Krista said. "You better not touch me or any of your blades."
The knight suggested. "My prince, she could be controlling you. Under her spell, sire."
The red witch wanted to clarify. "It was not me who came to me but your prince. He came to my home, asking for me to go out with him." The prince was a little embarrassed when she said it.
"Well, I asked nicely."
"Annoying me was asking nicely? How many no I've answered to you?"
The prince tried to deny it. "No. I asked nice." The knights started to stare at him, knowing the prince has never been with a woman before. "Come on, guys." But then, they were interrupted by a knight who brought news. "Prince Anton! I have news about the murder of Prince Elias!"
Anton brushed off his affair with the witch. This is more important. "What news?"
"The Great Seer Oliver proclaimed that your brother is not dead."
"You don't say?"
"Yes. Your brother has been taken prisoner by a masked woman with hands cold like death."
"Dear god..." Anton said. "Does he knew where is this masked woman so I can free my brother?"
"Yes. But it is not in this place..."
"Where?"
At the different place, the kingdom of Arendelle has been in ruins and Prince Benjamin and Hans were looking for clues. They were tracing back Wynter's journey. Her servants, Kai and Gerda, provided good informations. Now the big mystery they are trying to solve is "What made her start collecting her power?"
"She said it already." Benjamin said. "It was the Shadow people. They're entities outside Time. And like she said, Wynter is the Infinite Winters who defends existence."
But then Hans remembered a piece of information from Gerda. "She's not alone."
"What do you mean?"
"Gerda mentioned that there were two people who protects existence from these creatures. This person bears the same power level like Wynter except this power is the complete opposite."
"If Wynter has winter powers, that means the other has-"
"Eternal Inferno." Hans remembered the name.
Benjamin was thinking of a different name. "I was thinking of Firestorm but that one sound good and terrifying." Then the drone Sitron bumped the lost prince while it was scanning around the place. "Watch where you're going, little bat!"
Sitron continued until it located something. It beeped, calling Hans to check it out. The displaced hero came to see and there he saw the remains of Dark Elsa. She has been collected by the Snow Queen Wynter. Hans hated to see another version of Elsa killed and didn't get any chance for burial. "We're done here." Hans knew he cannot find anything from the place.
But Benjamin saw something. He looked up and felt a great disaster is about to happen. "Uh, Hans... does this count as a clue?"
Hans looked up at the sky and saw another world above them. "Sitron... analyze." The drone showed him that the alternate world is descending towards them. "How is this possible?"
But then someone answered them, caught them by surprise. They turned around and saw the appearance of Oliver the Omniscient. Prince Benjamin remembered what he did and felt nervous. Oliver said, "Do not worry. I'm not here to fight. But I'm here to provide information."
Hans never met the real Oliver yet. This is the first. "Who are you?"
"I'm the one who records everything in this world. And I'm here to tell you this is the end of this world."
"How? How is this possible?" Hans asked.
"No clue." Oliver said. "I've concluded my recording and decided to stop my journey here. I tried everything to avert this but... it appears there's nothing left in this world that could stop this." He looked at Hans and Benjamin and noticed their souls were different. "You've from another world. Alternate universe."
"Yes." Hans said. "And we're trying to solve this Elsa's murder... well, the motive of this murder."
"You know about the shadow people?"
"Yes."
"That's your answer." Oliver said.
"No! I want to know what made them-"
However, Oliver stopped him and pointed upward. "You two need to go. The alternate world is going down in just an hour." Benjamin agreed with him. "He's right. We need to go, Hans. There are other worlds that we need to investigate."
Hans wanted to ask more questions but then he knew Oliver will not provide anything good for now. "Alright. We're going back." He picked a snowglobe and threw it on their feet. It opened a dimensional doorway and took them back to the castle where Gerda and Kai are.
As they disappeared, Oliver looked up one last time and watched as the world descended and destroyed them all. Both worlds shattered into pieces and caused a chain reaction that instantly decimated the entire universe. As two universes destroyed, the River of Time grew an inch thinner.
Anna ran as fast as she can, looking for a place where for the crowd. When she saw people on the streets, she ran and disappeared into the crowd. The White Woman emerged from the dark alley, looking for the girl.
Her bright blue eyes brought fear to the people around her. They moved a step back as she passed.
Anna tried to hide from her and she ended up at a coffee shop. She looked at the window and saw the White Woman walking past the cafe. But then- "Anna?"
She freaked out and turned, only to see Kristoff and his working clothes. He was surprised by her reaction. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah. I'm okay." Anna answered. "Uh... do you work here?"
Kristoff was confused. "Didn't I tell you about my job?"
Anna forgot. "Oh. Yeah. I kinda lost myself thinking about my sister."
He understood what she's going through. "It's alright. You need coffee?"
"Yes, please." Anna turned to check the window, to see if the woman was gone. "Yeah. I need a quick coffee and I go."
"Drink and go?" Kristoff made a large one just for her. "Alright. That would be two-" Anna took it and went to the backdoor of the cafe. He was shocked when she took it. He looked at the manager and smiled, "I'll pay for that."
Anna burst out from the backdoor and into another alley. However, she was caught by the White Woman. "Oh, no!" She saw her nasty grin and her blue eyes turned into a violent glare. "Get away!"
The White Woman conjured a large crystal spear and threw it to the girl.
But then... something struck it, preventing it from hurting Anna. The young woman turned saw the mysterious man at her doorstep. His stab wounds were gone and smoking. "Got you just in time."
"Who are you?" Anna asked.
The man introduced himself. "Call me Kristoff." Anna was shocked to know his name and when she saw his face, she didn't believe it.
The White Woman exclaimed, "Eternal Inferno. What are you doing here?"
He responded, "I'm here to stop you. You're using the Infinite Winters wrong, Elsa!"
