Fixing a Mistake
Prologue Part 1: Tsukishima's POV
"Hey Kuroo." Tsukishima strolled up to his partner. Although he did not like to openly admit that they were in a relationship, he could not ignore it. Everyone they knew, knew about their relationship, but Tsukishima still did not want to openly admit that they were a couple. It would be too embarrassing.
Kuroo's black hair covered his right eye, but no matter what, Tsukishima could feel those eyes staring at him through the hair. Tsukishima couldn't help, but feel embarrassed inside. However, his exterior remained indifferent. He did not like the idea of Kuroo knowing that he could easily embarrassed. Kuroo, his partner, would use it against him whenever they are on a date in public.
Of course the two lovers never openly admitted to their friends or teammates that they went on dates. They always said that they were either just going out to eat and chat, or playing one-on-one volleyball.
Tsukishima got closer and closer to Kuroo. It wasn't until Tsukishima was ten meters away that Kuroo started closing the gap between them. "Let's go." Whenever Tsukishima was around Kuroo, he did not act or feel like his usual self. He could not figure out the reason why.
"Uh..Kuroo." Tsukishima walked to Kuroo with a goal in mind.
"What is it?" Kuroo stared at him intently.
"Lets break up." Tsukishima's voice and facial expression remained the same, but inside he couldn't help but feel sad. He actually did not want to do this, but there was no other way he could avoid this situation. Deep down, he also wanted to do this, in hope that Kuroo would disagree with the statement. Tsukishima hoped that Kuroo would disagree and therefore prove his love for him…
"Heh." Kuroo paused. His expression did not change a bit. Tsukishima's heart started beating rapidly. He wanted to know Kuroo's answer. He wanted to know if he actually loved him…
"We were dating in the first place?" Kuroo finally said after a couple minutes of silence.
Tsukishima's heart stopped. He couldn't believe it. What he hoped for did not come true. Although he did not like to admit it, he loves Kuroo. Hearing the words come out of the mouth of the man who he thought was his boyfriend, Tsukishima felt heartbroken.
He always acted different around Kuroo. He always felt different around Kuroo. And he knew why. It was because he loved him. But hearing the words come out of Kuroo's mouth...Tsukishima could not help, but show his true feelings. Wet droplets started to stream down his cheeks.
The tears rolled down his cheeks for a couple of minutes before he finally realized that he was crying. Wiping the tears away, he turned around, not bothering to look back, and ran.
He felt hopeless. Now he knew the feeling of unrequited love.
