My version of the Church scene

I didn't like how the Church scene ended and I had to rewrite a scene for English class in the form of a play act so I decided to do that one. Hope you guys like it. Enjoy and review!

Setting: The Church/ Ponyboy, Soda, and Darry's house

Ponyboy Jerry

Dally Kids

Johnny

Darry

Scene 1:

(Johnny, Ponyboy, and Dally arrive at the burning church)
PONYBOY: What happened?

JERRY: The church caught on fire! Some of the kids were playing and are trapped in the church!

JOHNNY: (Runs towards the burning church) COME ON PONYBOY WE HAVE TO SAVE THOSE KIDS!

DALLY: NO! We got to leave before the fuzz show up!
PONYBOY: (Runs after Johnny into the church)
DALLY: Oh boy.

(Ponyboy and Johnny run into the church and find the kids)
KIDS: HELP!

JOHNNY: Come here kids. We'll get ya'll out. (Picks up 1 kid and drops him out the window)
PONYBOY: Come on! We have to hurry! The roof's going to cave in! If that doesn't kill us then the fuzz will when they show up!

(Johnny and Ponyboy finish getting the kids out)

DALLY: Come on guys! If you hurry up we can get out of here before you're caught! (Dally lifts Johnny out of the window just as part of the roof collapses)

PONYBOY: (Dodges the roof, jumps out of the window, and lands safely at Johnny's feet)

DALLY: Come on guys! Let's go! I hear the fuzz!

(Johnny, Dally, and Ponyboy run, hop in the car and speed away)

Scene 2:

DALLY: (Yanks Ponyboy and Johnny out of the car) come on you two.

SODA AND DARRY: (Run down the steps to Pony) PONYBOY! WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?

PONYBOY: Long story.

DARRY: You three ok?
JOHNNY: Could be better.

PONYBOY: The police still after us?

SODA: Yeah. They have no clue where you guys are though.

JOHNNY: Doesn't matter. I think I'm going to turn myself in.

DARRY AND SODA: WHAT?

JOHNNY: It's unfair for Pony to have to run away because of me.

SODA: But you could get the electric chair!

DALLY: Or be thrown in jail.

DARRY: Johnny you can't turn yourself in!

SODA: The gang won't be functional without you!

JOHNNY: I have to! Pony and I can't run away from the fuzz forever!

DARRY: He's got a point Soda.

DALLY: But people get hardened in jail! We can't let that happen to Johnny!

JOHNNY: I really have no choice.

DALLY: Yes you do!

SODA: At least think more about it, Johnny.

PONYBOY: Yeah. Can't you sleep on it?
JOHNNY: Fine. I will.

Scene 3:

(Johnny wakes up on Ponyboy's couch the next morning)

PONYBOY: You decide what you're going to do?

JOHNNY: Yeah. I'm turning myself in after breakfast.

DARRY: (Brings in chocolate cake and chocolate milk for Pony and Johnny)

SODA: So what have you decided Johnny?

DARRY: You turning yourself in?

JOHNNY: Yeah.

DARRY: Are you sure?

SODA: You'll most likely get the electric chair.

(Dally walks in)

DALLY: You know how much the fuzz despise us. You're risking your life doing this.

JOHNNY: I know. But I'm not changing my mind. It's the best thing for all of us.

PONYBOY: Yeah I guess.
