Prompt: Picnic
Danny Messer was nothing if not resourceful. It was supposed to be bright, sunny, and 70 degrees on Saturday when he planned a picnic for Lindsay.
When he woke up on Saturday morning, the skies had opened and rain poured down in an endless stream.
Danny didn't get upset though, he simply moved the picnic, blanket, food, even the kite he planned for them to fly into the living room. The food was just as good, the fire kept them warm and toasty, and maybe the kite didn't fly, but it was the thought that really counted after all.
"This was a very nice picnic," Lindsay said, leaning against him as he fed her chocolate cake.
"Even though it rained and we're inside."
She shrugged, "Well, I do like the outside and flying the kite would have been fun, but you made me yummy food, and chocolate, and you're here, so it's kind of perfect."
"Kind of?"
She smirked, leaning up to kiss him, "You made me eat a lot, so you're going to have to help me burn off some calories."
Growling happily, Danny stood, yanking Lindsay up and carrying her off to the bedroom, "Get ready for a work out, Montana."
Danny Messer was definitely a man who could roll with the punches.
