AN: It's been a while since i wrote anything, so please no flames. this is just a cute little story about Sirius and Harry. i feel like their relationship was never really explored, and i feel like it was a missed opportunity, so here's a moment between the two :)
It wasn't particularly late when I found them there. Just lying there. Film credits rolling on the TV Harry had convinced them to buy. A good investment really, one of the few things that could attract Sirius' attention for more than a few minutes. A miracle in its self really, he has the attention span of a four year old. But then, after 12 years in Azkaban, with nothing to look at but dank, damp, mould infested walls, being out in the world is just too exciting, even if he is only allowed in Grimauld Place.
Harry was here for the holidays. Horribly skinny from the Dursleys, we can both tell they don't treat him right, me and Sirius that is, but if he's happy enough not to mention it, then we can be content with fattening him up a bit, before he has to go back there next summer. They look so contented, so childlike in their slumber. For one moment, this one peaceful moment, they aren't surviving, they aren't worried about what's around the corner, for themselves or each other. It warms my heart. Sirius is lying there, across the sofa, and Harry is cuddled in with him, using his chest as a pillow. A testament to how tired they must have been, that sofa is one of the most uncomfortable things I have even sat on.
Even so, they look peaceful. For once, Harry isn't struggling against the things that torture him, the things that Voldemort does to him in his sleep. Sirius isn't crying out, isn't dreaming of Azkaban, and the dementors, and the terrible things they've left him with. In this moment, they're just Harry and Sirius, not The-Boy-Who-Lives, not THE Sirius Black, escaped murderer. They can be at peace. I know they're going to be uncomfortable when they wake up, but it's been so long since they last looked like they had slept well, so I leave them there… After talking a photo of course. They are simply too cute. In years to come, when Harry is showing his kids his photo album, he'll show them this one, and tell them all about Sirius; the best dad a guy could have.
