Forbidden
How can you sit, so near yet so far?
Making me grasp reality, see things as they are
I feel so nerved, though I've been here before
Somehow this is different, I'm seeing far more
Of my partner for years, the one who I've sworn
To never let cry, regret, be forlorn
Of this chosen fate, one of thievery and chase
Half the time spent hiding, the other apace
If you'd just edge nearer, I know all would work out
Let my silenced whispers become elated shouts
I know it seems impossible, you might think I'll turn away
Don't think of what the future holds, live life as it should be, day by day
And for just a single moment, taste the forbidden ways of life
Forget the work and hatred, the pain, the hurt, the strife
Lean close and taste pure heaven, and we'll forget this night
Our lips will seal eternally, our minds will block this sight
Just promise that you'll never, throw away your heart and mine
And when our paths differ, our fates will be etched in time
To once again remember, and taste forbidden lips
And think over and over, of the bygone tears and rips
Ultimately mend them, and we will just be one
