Oh, and English still isn't my native language. Though I wish^^
Hardly better than it was a few minutes before. Helen sighed after one last look at that damn antenna. Who the hell invented it anyway? Ow, wait, wasn't it based, at first, on Tesla's discoveries? She would have to have a serious talk with the guy later on.
Why on hell was Henry gone again? Oh, yeah, that convention of his. And everyone seemed to think she was the only person on site able to repair the tv connection, seriously? Just because she had literally been there at the beginning of it all, doesn't mean she actually could repair those things! She may have adapted to technology, yet not that much. And Big Foot had, of course, to accompany Henry. Oh, and Will was nowhere to be found. She would have to speak to him as well.
She tried her best to ignore her daughter's commentary on the current screen : 'Still blank, mum, sometimes it's like you can see some european football flying across the screen, but since it's supposed to be the hundredth or so re-airing of Alien vs Predator, I highly doubt it is a sign of improvement.'
The antenna apparently didn't feel like cooperating. Nor did Ashley, actually, as she tried to see images in the screen that weren't actually there. If it had been cute when she was doing so at five with clouds, with twenty more years and a tv screen it really felt outdated.
"Mum, you' sure that's the good channel already? It really, really looks like a cartoon, right now..."
Helen remembered, one day, shortly after Nikola's discoveries had been unveiled, one friend had told her : "My Dear Helen, this said 'technology' is going to be the end of us." At that time, she had just smiled and ignored it. Right now, is seemed like it was actually right. There actually was a limit to what human brain can assimilate in its evolution and hers had apparently reached it.
"Come here, Ash, just have your try, I doubt I actually can sort that one out."
She came back to the main room, relieved not to be in the height anywhere near that antenna anymore. Plus Ashley had that thing with Henry, and therefore maybe could she help. Or actually being more helpful than she was in front of that screen. But she actually was part right, this screen actually revealed strange cartoon-like figures. Alien vs Gremlins was nowhere on the tv program that she had ever seen. Not that she had actually ever seen either of those references.
"I can't actually believe Magnus was overpowered by a simple tv antenna when she defeated far worse abnormal"
"You never know"
That dialog had went on between two men, not far from the Sanctuary. Henry and Will were laughing their asses off as they checked the video feed. That, was just priceless. And really worth any sci-fi convention in the world. They would have to check the tv program though.
