Everything had been pretty darn perfect the past year.
Michael and Lincoln had been exonerated, so had she.
Lincoln and LJ were reunited and were now living off the money the State gave Lincoln to make for the trouble. He also kinda got together with Jane after a month too.
Michael got quite an amount of money as well. He was back at the loft he was staying before Fox River and he was making it work with her.
They started dating two weeks after the exoneration. Michael asked her to move in with him after 5 months and she, of course, said yes. Their life had been perfect.
Michael was even taking her out on a date to the restaurant they had their first date in later that night.
And then, there was this.
It's not as if she wasn't happy about it, she was. Ecstatic about, actually
She wasn't sure how to tell Michael and she wasn't sure if he would handle it well. It seemed that whenever she brought the subject up, he would end up panicking and changing the subject.
Sara knew this would change her—their lives greatly and she just couldn't hold it in anymore. So she vowed to herself that she would tell Michael while they were on their date.
'So, how was your day?' Michael asked her, smiling from across their table.
'Oh, it was good. The clinic was actually bearable today.' Sara answered giving off a small giggle. 'How was yours?'
'That's good. My day was, normal. The usual blueprints, meetings, clients stuff.' Michael replied, hesitantly. He had kind of noticed Sara was unbelievably quiet tonight.
Sara didn't really know what answer so she kept quiet.
'So, uh, Sara, I have something really big and important to ask you.' Michael said, trying to break the awkward silence.
'Michael, do you want to have a family?' Sara asked, 'You know, have kids, buy a great big house somewhere outside of the city.'
'Of course, I want to have a family!' Michael said, slightly offended. 'why would you think I wouldn't?'
'It's just… Everytime I mention the whole having kids thing you get jumpy and change the subject.'
'Sara.' Michael said, taking Sara's hand in his and tilting her chin up so he could look her in the eyes.
'It would be my honor to have a family with you. Which is kind of the reason I brought you here.'
'What do you mean?' Sara asked, confused.
With that, Michael stood up, bent down on one knee and took out a small black velvet Tiffany & Co. box from his jacket pocket.
Sara was in complete shock, she was so focused on telling him one way or another that she didn't notice all the signs.
'You are the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with, with whom I want to wake up next to every morning and most importantly have a family with.'
'Sara Tancredi, Will you marry me?'
Sara nearly fell of her chair in shock. She was almost crying now and she could barely sit up.
'Of course I will marry you!' Sara shouted, rather loudly actually, as she stood up and pulled Michael into a gentle and passionate kiss.
Pulling away, Michael whispered into her ear, 'I love you, Sara.'
Releasing herself from Michael's arms, she takes his arm, places his hand on her stomach and says, "We do too.'
