Attack of the Fuzzy Cat

"What are you doing?" Caitlin froze for a second before gaining her composure.

"I thought you left." She replied wearily.

"I did. Thirty Two minutes ago, now I'm back. What are you doing?" Barry asked again. He had gone out after their usual routine.

"Well I found this cat." She extended her arm to the table. Barry looked at it.

"Caitlin, that cat has holes in it." Given that it was patched up, with stitches. It still has holes in it.

"Well captain obvious, I can see with my eyes." She was prepping a machine.

"Still doesn't answer my question, what are you doing." She was now adding wires to the cat.

"I'm trying to, um." She tried to scramble for words. "Revive it."

"You what?" Okay making him run and holding his breath at the same time is crazy, but this is.

"They say that cat have nine lives right?" He looked confusedly at her.

"Hypothetically speaking, why on earth would you try to revive that? Haven't you read Frankenstein's monster?" Well he did, and it didn't end well.

"Barry, it's a cat." She said monotonously. "I can hardly picture it killing people."

"Bet you ten bucks that's what they say about every other killing machine ever made."

"Don't you have anywhere else to be?" Caitlin looked at him. He tried to remember if he had plans but nothing comes to mind.

"I did. But now that you're doing such crazy thing, might as well stand her and guard."

"Don't be ridiculous. Trust me, when did I ever fail as a doctor." Except at operations.

"Well there was this one time that you had me-" drink concentrated glucose that made him vomit for an hour.

"Rhetorical." She glared at him."Just shut up at hand me that vial. That's the last step."

As Caitlin reached for it. He took a step back then realise that if the experiment would go wrong, he needs to be closer to her so that he can grab her faster.

"Caitlin, are we sure about this."

"Of course!" She poured the vial down the cat's throat and turn the machine on.

They fell silent for a few seconds for the cat's paws started to contract. "Hi there little fellow."

"Attack of the fuzzy cat. If ever we got killed by that, it would be a catchy title. Don't you think?" He looked at the cat, who was now having trouble standing up.

He looked at Caitlin who was smiling,it occurred to him, the gravity of the situation. His friend revived a living thing, an animal. He looked for any documentary camera running, an experiment as important as this one would be recorded, but he saw none.

"Uh Caitlin, where are your study notes?" He said as she looked up to him.

"Don't have any." She muttered under her breath as she picked the cat up. "I'm not planning to go on public."

"Caitlin this deserves a noble prize ;every noble price for next century. People would kill just to read your notes."

"My point exactly. Didn't you read Frankenstein's Monster? Nothing comes good about bring back the dead."

"How long have you been doing this? Reviving things?"

"Every since Ronnie."

"Would you have revived him, if you had the chance?"

"You mean if we had found his body?" He nodded. And she paused "No."

"Why?"

"I'm no God Barry but Ronnie died for a reason, I may not see it now but I'm sure someday I will." She kept the machine in a case before turning to face him.

"What make you say that?" He asked as he followed her out the lab.

"You said the lightning chose right? Somewhere in between that line it made me realise, I knew Ronnie. He would not chose another way to die. He's a hero." She smiled. "Just like you are"
