Naruto walked through the door exausted with his shoulders hanging. "I'm home!" He called as walked into the kitchen. Hinata, who was 7 months pregnant with their third child, was currently washing dishes. "Welcome home-!" She began but stopped abruptly. The plate slipped out of her hand and crashed onto the floor, creating a very loud noise. Naruto jumped alert and rushed to her. "What's wrong?!" He asked in a panic. "Is it the baby?! Are you okay?" She didn't answer but simply pulled at his jacket and stared at a hole in it. "I could ask you the same thing. What happened to you today?" A few beads of sweat appeared on his forehead. "Oh. That... Well I... Kind of uhhh... Got stabbed with a katana today..."
There was a few moments of silence and Naruto began to worry about her reaction. Finally she clutched his jacket in her hands and leaned her head against his chest. He sighed and put his arms around her. "I'm sorry, hime. I went on an important mission today and got hurt a little. I'm alright though." He wiped a tear from her eye and she looked up at her husband. "I know you're strong but... Please try to be more careful." She told him softly. Naruto chuckled a little at that. "Will do, my love. Can't have you worrying about me and hurting our new bundle!" He placed a hand on her stomach. "Speaking of bundles... How did you not wake the kids with that noise?!" She smiled sweetly at him. "They're heavy sleepers. They take after you." He laughed and got the dust pan out of the closet and helped her clean the broken dish from the floor. Afterwards he helped Hinata up the stairs to their bedroom. He helped her change, put her to bed, tucked her in, and made sure she comfortable before checking on Boruto and Himawari were, just as Hinata said, still sound asleep, before getting to bed himself. Just before falling asleep he laid his arm over his wife and said, "Hey Hinata..." She replied with a sleepy, "Hmmmm?" He smiled and told her, "Thank you for the bento. It was delicious." She smiled happily and replied, "You're welcome." They both then drifted off to sleep in each others arms.
