Etched in Stone

"Do you remember?" Seimei's voice was comforting to my restless heart. "Do you remember how you felt when you learned your name?"

My eyes affixed on his beautiful face.

"Sure, I felt kind of… lonely." I pondered on the name. "Loveless. Doesn't that pull strings at your heart?"

Seimei wrapped his arms around me.

"I don't think so." His chin rested on my head. "Because even if you have a name like that, doesn't mean your life is etched in stone."

I was even more engrossed in what he was saying now. Seimei's warm breath kept me still.

"Brother?" My voice was lighter than his. "How did you feel when you learned my name?"

He pondered for a moment, and then gently kissed my forehead.

"I knew," Seimei started. "That you would, regardless of name, love and be loved as according to you, no one else."

For that moment, I did believe those sweet words which he spoke to me and me only.
