zomg This is the shortest thing I've ever written. XD And I'm actually quite pleased with it. Anyway, this is my first FMA fic. Well, not even a fic. More like a drabble. R&R please and thank you!! : )

Disclaimer: I wish.

Bright Side

The sun shone brightly on a Friday afternoon. The air was thick and there was no wind blowing. It was the type of weather that made everything seem damp; the type where it was too stuffy to stay inside for too long but too hot and dry to be outside; the type of day where you just wanted to lie in bed all day wearing nothing but a small shirt and shorts with the fan on, not wanting to move a single muscle.

And that's exactly what Ed wanted to do today.

Edward Elric was lying on his bed, sheets scrambled and thrown on the floor, pillows soon following them. The ceiling fan was spinning drawlingly, squeaking every once and a while. He was wearing the black tank top he usually wore under his clothing revealing his muscled arm and his auto mail limb; a pair of shorts that reached his knees that he had found in his drawers revealed his well-toned leg and, again, his auto mail leg. His body was sprawled across the bed, trying to cool down as much as possible.

It wasn't working.

His blonde bangs were matted down on his forehead with sweat and he felt sticky all over. He tried closing his golden eyes, thinking of something cold, anything to take his mind off the uncomfortable heat surrounding him, suffocating him-

His plan wasn't working.

The sheets being uncomfortably damp because of the heat and sweat, he let out a heavy frustrated sigh, exiting his bedroom in order to take a refreshing shower. He set the temperature to the coldest setting, hoping that this nice, long shower would cool him off. It worked as the water poured over him, but as he exited the restroom, again only wearing a black tank top and shorts, the sticky dryness returned. Edward groaned.

How he hated days like this. He hated them with a passion; almost as much as he hated milk. Almost. He still hated milk more.

Lazily, he made his way downstairs, trudging into the kitchen. He opened the refrigerator and poured himself a cup of lemonade that he oh so conveniently found in there. He sipped at it while half-heartedly searching for Al, Winry, or Aunt Pinako around the house. After not finding them, he headed outdoors.

The sun was glaringly hot and beat down on the blonde teen's skin and eyes. Momentarily blinded, Ed lifted an arm to shield his eyes from the burning sun.

His eyes widened out of their squinting as he took in the sight laid out before him.

Winry sat on a beach chair (since when did they have one?) under the cool shade of a tree, completely relaxed in the hot weather. She held a small cup of lemonade filled with ice in one hand and the other was laid across her thin stomach lazily; her eyes were closed. But her lying out in the hot sun wasn't what made him do a double take. Winry was wearing a bathing suit. And not just any old, one-piece bathing suit- a bikini. Quite a revealing one at that.

Ed felt the blush rise up to his cheeks.

Maybe hot days like these weren't all that bad.
