AKARIN!
Haiiii! The Most Ambitious Crossover Event in History hajimaruyo!

In a tea house near the campus of a middle school, there was an Amusement Club. Not any old, typical, boring school club; it was an Amusement Club, and that means amusement.

Having been located in an old tea house, the headquarters of the Amusement Club used to be home to the then-defunct Tea Club, where members would gather and... well, make tea. Because of this, the Amusement Club room still had tea-making equipment inside of it, and thus the members of the Amusement Club could make tea as they please.

The sun was shining bright over Takaoka that morning. Spring was in full bloom, and it was the beginning of another academic year. First-year Akaza Akari was preparing to join her two best friends, Funami Yui and Toshino Kyoko, in middle school after a year of separation. However, something went awry as Akari prepared for her first day—she forgot that she had to wear a uniform now, and had dressed in casual clothing. When Yui and Kyoko arrived at Akari's door to greet her, they immediately noticed the wear.

"...We're going to be late," they muttered to each other.

"Oh no! I forgot I'm in middle school now!" cried Akari.

"Nice one, Akari!" said Kyoko, with two very enthusiastic thumbs up. "Go for a stronger gag next time!"

Akari rushed back in to change into her uniform, and Yui and Kyoko followed behind her. While upstairs, Kyoko noticed a door that had a peculiar sign on it. The sign read:

AKANE'S ROOM
DO NOT ENTER

Kyoko was intrigued by this, and decided to take a peek. She had a feeling that maybe some sort of disturbing secret was held here, but when she opened the door, she found…

Nothing.

The room was spotless, and everything looked normal. But it didn't feel normal to Kyoko. Something felt off about this Akane person's room, and she wanted to get to the bottom of it. But it'd have to wait for another day.

When the girls got to the school, Kyoko and Yui parted ways with Akari and they went to their respective homerooms. Akari was understandably sort of nervous, as this was her first day at a new school, but something just felt off to her. She didn't know what exactly was wrong, but that feeling bothered her.

"Now, Ms. Akaza, please introduce yourself," said the teacher.

Akari's head jumped up. She had zoned out, and now somebody was calling her name. It's time I stand out and have presence! she thought to herself.

"Alright," she said. Akari leapt up out of her chair and gave quite the enthusiastic introduction, something reminiscent of an anime character, as well as being a complete embarrassment.

And there was silence. Total silence. Countless pairs of eyes slowly moved to point toward her. The blank, empty stares shook her to the core. Oh, no, this is bad, she thought to herself. I shouldn't have come on so strong! Akari slowly sank down into her chair and tried to pretend that the embarrasment of an introduction never happened. But even then, nothing happened. The eyes just kept staring in silence.

...What is this...? They won't stop staring! This isn't the kind of presence I wanted!

"Hey, Akari! Wake up! Didn't you hear the bell?"

Kyoko was poking at Akari to wake her up, with Yui close behind. The classroom was empty, save for them. Akari jumped out of her seat, startled.

"You guys are okay?" Akari asked, her voice tense.

"We're just fine," Yui said, "are you?"

"...I was starting to feel like I was the only real person here. Something just doesn't feel right to me."

Kyoko put her hand on Akari's shoulder, and with her signature smile, gave a positive speech. "Oh, don't fret, Akari! You're just nervous because it's your first day of middle school! Don't sweat it; you'll be a pro by the end of the week!" She threw out another enthusiastic thumbs up.

Akari retreated a little and mumbled, "That's not what I mean..." But Kyoko didn't seem to notice and had asked Akari to come with them to the Amusement Club room.

The door to the club room swung open, revealing a rather luxurious tea room. "This is it," Kyoko exclaimed. "Welcome to the Amusement Club!" She showed Akari around like a house tour guide, saying quite excitedly, "This is our... base of operations, if you will! Where we do all sorts of secret society stuff!"

"...Base...of operations? What kind of club is this?"

"Kyoko's just messing with you," Yui said. "We're no secret society."

"Then... what do you guys do here?" Akari asked.

"Well, we pretty much just hang out and talk about whatever crosses our mind."

Akari scratched her head. "That sounds... not very club-like."

Kyoko interjected, "It's clubbing at its finest!"

Yui retorted, "You keep telling yourself that, Kyoko."

"Yui," Kyoko whined, "don't be so mean!" "You're insufferable," Yui mumbled.

Kyoko, having calmed down a little, said, "Anyway, this is just our chill spot. It's not our... 'official' club area, but who would really care at this point?"

Suddenly, the door to the club room swung open yet again, revealing a figure with long, purple hair, put up in a ponytail.

"Toshino Kyoko!" the figure called out.

The girls turned their heads towards the door, and saw Sugiura Ayano, her head red with fury, stomping towards Kyoko. A friend of hers, Ikeda Chitose, followed closely. "Excuse the intrusion!" she said softly.

Ayano glared at Kyoko. Kyoko stared back with a dumb expression. Yui and Akari had no idea what sort of feud was going on between the two.

"Ayano," Kyoko said, "what are you doing here?"

Ayano struggled to form her thoughts into speech. She stammered before saying, "It's important to eat a balanced diet!" and running off.

A moment of silence passed before Yui, confused, asked Kyoko, "What was that all about?" Kyoko scratched her head. "I'm not sure..."

Shortly after Ayano left, they heard a crash outside of the tea house. The ground shook underneath their feet. Opening the large sliding door revealed a hole in the ground, as if a small meteorite had struck near the building. When they got closer to the hole, they noticed a blue light shining from below. A glowing, blue cube was in the hole.

"It looks like some sort of... cosmic cube," Akari said.
