Percy P.O.V
I was in the Hermes cabin. I was lying down on my bed, thinking. Thinking about the events that had just gone to pass. It scared me. Was it true? Was my mother lying to me all these years? I had just heard recent news that the Gods Of Olympus are real and apparently I'm in a camp with over a hundred children who are sons and daughters of the gods. Who is my father?
Flashback:
"Percy! Come here. We need to talk about something," I heard my mother say from the kitchen. I immediately got up from my bed and walked to the dining room where I saw my mother sitting on the table. I sat down in the seat opposite her and looked her in the eyes. They contained great sadness and was that longing? Ever since mum married smelly Gabe she's been acting all sad and I once saw her come out of her room bruised on her arm as if someone hit her. What was going on?
"Yes mom? I came like you asked." I said after a minute of silence.
"We need to talk about your father." She said in a pained voice. I always knew the subject of my dad always pained her.
"What about him?" I asked, intrigued where this conversation was going.
"Remember at school how professor Bruner always pushed you to know about the Greek Gods?" She asked. Why was she bringing this up now and what did it have to do with my father?
"Yes. But what does that have to do with-"
"They're real." Mum cut me off.
"What? You're kidding." I looked at my mum. She was serious.
"Ok. Back to my da-." At that moment the front door blew off its place and landed in the back sofa. Grover was standing at the door, the most fear I have seen in him ever present in his eyes.
"Sally! Percy has to go, NOW!" He yelled and my mother grabbed me by my collar and scrambled to the door.
"GET IN THE CAR!" She had to yell as a monstrous roar was heard down the street.
"WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT?" I squealed in an undignified voice as I jumped in the back with Grover. My question remained unanswered as my mother floored the gas and we drifted off. 70,80,90, the speed of the car rising as we ran away from the still unidentified... thing. I looked through the window and saw a man, or was it a bull? Wait. THAT IS A MAN-BULL!?. It was the size of a small building. I then saw it proceeding to pick up a tree and send it our way.
"MUM, WATCH OUT!" I screamed as the tree slammed into the side of the car and sent us flying. I managed to help get Grover and mum out before I noticed something.
"GRIVER YOU'RE HALF DONKEY!" I screamed. Grover bleated.
"HALF GOAT. I'll explain later." He huffed. We were at archway entrance to the camp. I could read the letters carved onto the stone. 'Camp half-blood' it said. Me and Grover ran in as my mum just bounced off a seemingly invisible barrier.
"Percy! I can't get in you have to leave me!" She said.
"I'mnot leaving you! Come on you-can-get-In!" I said between pulls of her arms. Grover was long gone, no where to be seen. 'He's probably getting help'. I thought. Then the man-bull hybrid, 'It's the Minotaur!' I though as it picked up my mother with a hand bigger than my whole body, and squeezed her as my mother disappeared in a light, gold dust.
"NO! YOU'RE GONNA PAY FOR THAT!" I bellowed at the top of my lungs. Without any weapon I charged the Minotaur, sprinting at his legs. Suddenly, an axe appeared in his hand out of nowhere and made its way towards me. I jumped on the blade and used it as a platform to leap on the Minotaur. I wrapped my arms around its neck and swung across to its back. I then pulled myself up and jumped on the Minotaur's head and tugged with all my strength and one of its horns, then the horn shot twenty metres into the air. I jumped over the Minotaur's hand as he attempted to grasp me and I vaulted of his head, grabbing the horn in mid air and as I fell I turned around and stabbed the Minotaur's chest with its own horn. I fell to the ground in a collapsed heap. My mind was fuzzy from the fight and my body ached with adrenaline. I stood up to find that the Minotaur had disintegrated, leaving behind the horn I had used to kill it. I walked to the Minotaur and picked up the horn. It transformed into a bracelet with a charm of a horn dangling down from a chain. I put the bracelet on. 'Spoils of war' , my mind somehow told me.
I was about to walk to the archway when I saw a crowd of about 150 kids, some teenagers gathered at the entrance. They were all staring at me with awe and one called out, "Who are you?".
"Percy Jackson," I replied. Then I passed out.
