Remus sat on the couch and laughed as he watched Sirius lug a giant Christmas tree into the drawing room. It was just a week before Christmas and Sirius Black was busy running around Number Twelve, Grimmauld Place.
"You could help me with this you know," Sirius grumbled from underneath the tree.
"What, and ruin all my fun?" Remus chuckled.
"Wanker."
"Not since you've been around love."
"Liar," Sirius rolled his eyes and heaved the tree into the stand. Remus chuckled and put aside his book to stand and help Sirius with the tree.
"Did you pick out the biggest tree you could find?"
"There's going to be lots of presents! So we needed a big tree."
"Who says I'm getting you anything," Remus smirked.
"I say," Sirius grinned and winked, "but it doesn't have to be wrapped."
Remus laughed and swatted Sirius away, "Down boy."
Sirius pouted, "You're no fun."
They got the tree straightened and secured in the stand. Sirius looked very pleased with himself. "So are you planning on decorating this too?"
Sirius looked deflated, "I forgot that part. I don't think I have anything to decorate it with. Well, nothing that would be safe anyways."
"Yes, knowing your mum I wouldn't want to go using any of her old things." Seeing the crestfallen look on Sirius's face Remus added, "I'll just go to Diagon and pick up some things for us."
Sirius perked up at that. "I'll just get some things ready around here while you go get us some decorations."
"I'll be back shortly," Remus said, giving Sirius a quick kiss before disappearing into the emerald green flames of the fireplace. Sirius spent the next hour wandering around the house humming to himself. When it was near time for Remus to be getting home he put some cider on to heat. Sirius was sitting at the kitchen table when Remus came back.
"Look!" said Sirius, "I made us some cider."
"That sounds great," Remus said taking a cup. "Wait a minute," he said holding his cup suspiciously, "is this real cider, or your cider."
Sirius grinned broadly, "You'll just have to taste it and find out."
Remus took a cautious sip. "Sirius Black!" he shouted.
Sirius laughed, "Yes?"
"Does this even have any cider in it? Or is it pure alcohol?"
"Sure it's cider."
"Sirius Black, are you trying to get me drunk?"
"Of course not," Sirius said, grinning wickedly.
"Because you know that's a difficult thing to do to a werewolf"
"Yes, but it's so fun to see you all worked up over it."
"Git."
"Aww...you know you love me."
"Put up with is more like it."
"Oi!"
Remus laughed and pulled Sirius close, "Yes, I love you, now let's go get these decorations on the tree that you made me go buy."
"I didn't make you, you offered."
"And if I hadn't you would have sat around here sulking that the tree isn't done."
"Would not."
Remus laughed and dragged Sirius off to the drawing room, shoving him towards the tree. There were three large packages full of decorations. Plenty of shiny trinket and baubles. The rest of the afternoon they spent pleasantly quiet, decorating the tree. When they had finished they collapsed together on the couch.
"More cider?" Sirius was sipping from his own mug.
"Are you still on that?"
"I like it!"
Remus chuckled and pulled Sirius close, "You never change Padfoot, you never change."
