In Jubilee Park in London, a beautiful brunette woman sat on a bench playing games with her baby daughter.
The little girl was stunning, her hair the same colour as her mothers yet it hung around her heart shaped face in messy curls, unable to be tamed by human means. The girl was no older than a few months, but her dark chocolate eyes identical to her fathers, understood everything she saw. She was smarter than other babies.
She watched the pigeons intently as her mother fed them the last of her sandwich, then when they started cooing she laughed and clapped her cubby hands together.
Her mum smiled at her baby with love shining in her hazel eyes and kissed her forehead softly.
She looked up briefly when she thought she heard a familiar noise on the breeze, but dismissed it easily. She hadn't heard that noise in years, and doubted she would again.
Spotting her husband walking towards them she grinned and pointed him out to her giggling child whose laugh echoed around the trees when she saw her dad.
He strode towards them with happiness and sadness in his dark chocolate eyes, his steps slightly forced and his smile broken. He reminded her of a mirror image of her husband, the same yet completely different.
When he reached them he didn't say a word, simply kissed her tenderly, as if it was a first kiss that left her heart racing. Then leaned down to the beautiful child in her arms and stared into eyes that matched his own. She grinned her toothless smile at him and reached her plump hand towards him, he held her hand gently for a moment and smiled at her. She was the most beautiful child he had ever seen.
But he had to pull away or he feared he never would again. Looking into the woman's eyes one last time he cupped her cheek and let a tear fall.
"I loved you the moment I saw you." He whispered, making her own eyes well up. For some reason this felt like a goodbye.
He turned away from her and their baby as quickly as his body would allow and walked as fast as he could in the way he'd just come from. Not turning back when she called his name.
She sat back down on the bench, holding her baby as tightly as she could, and sobbed. Feeling a light hand on her shoulder she looked up slowly and frowned when she saw her husband looking at her. No sadness or broken smiles. Just as happy as he was this morning.
Choosing to ignore her tears until a later time, he kissed her passionately and cupped her cheek as the other him had a moment before, but this time he seemed to be staring at her with a look that said he didn't deserve her.
He picked up his daughter and kissed her cheek softly. She giggled and placed her hands on ether side of his face. He giggled too and span them around softly, his solitary heart soaring with joy.
When Rose looked to where the other Doctor went she heard the noise on the breeze again. She knew that would be the last time she heard the Tardis, and the last time she would see the Timelord Doctor.
But looking to her husband and daughter she knew he had given her the best part of himself. He had given her his hearts.
And softly she said on the dying breeze so her husband and daughter couldn't hear.
"Goodbye, my Doctor."
And stood from the bench and tickled her daughter held firmly in her husbands arms. She loved her family more than anything possible, and hoped the Doctor would find happiness in this new regeneration.
The End
