I don't own Naruto-much to my dismay.
Just a random thing I thought up.
-----------------------------------------------
Promises mean nothing....
That's what she thought when he was unable to bring back their teammate like he had promised to. But that night he had treated her to ramen as a way to say that he was sorry. It was then that she realized that she didn't care if their teammate came back or not, he had betrayed them and he was no longer a major factor in her life.
Promises mean nothing....
That's what she thought as she waited at the ramen stand for him to treat her to ramen like he promised to do every Monday night. But he had been on a mission yesterday and might not be back yet. It was then that she realized that he might have been hurt, and ran all the way to the hospital only to find him sitting grumpily in a chair as a nurse fussed over his broken arm.
Promises mean nothing....
That's what she thought as she stood over his unconscious body, protecting him as he had promised to protect her. But then, as she was distracted by these thoughts, her opponent took advantage of her momentary lapse in concentration to stab her. It was as her opponents fell before her that she realized she didn't need anyone to protect her anymore.
Promises mean nothing....
That's what she thought as he turned on her in rage, hurting her like he promised never to. But he hadn't been in control of himself, and she had healed herself promptly, so she couldn't really blame him for that. It was then that she realized that she would have to protect him even more to make sure he never lost control like that again.
Promises mean nothing...
That's what she thought as she told his girlfriend the bad news even though he had promised she would never have to again. But as she and his girlfriend sat waiting outside the operating room they had grown closer in their mutual fear for his life. It was then that she realized that while she might never be his girlfriend nothing could replace her in his life.
Promises mean nothing....
That was her only thought as she held her teammate and best friend, as he left her even though he had promised never to. But it wasn't his fault, and she would avenge him as best she could. It was then that Sakura realized that he had died trying to keep his promises. He had promised to bring Sasuke back, and he had died at Sasuke's hand. He had promised to treat her to ramen every Monday night, and he had seen the ninja attacking the village as they went to the stand. He had promised to protect her, and he had taken the blow meant for her. He had promised never to hurt her, and now her heart was breaking as she watched the life fade out of those baby-blue eyes. He had promised never to make her tell his girlfriend bad news again, and now she had to tell Hinata that she would never be able to marry her fiancé. He had promised never to leave her like Sasuke had, and now he was leaving the world for good.
Promises mean nothing....
That was what she thought as she told Sasuke she hated him, even though she had promised to love him forever. But he had attacked her home and killed the most important person in her life. It was then that she realized that she was standing face-to-face with Sasuke, with her katana through his heart, avenging the murder of the man who had broken all the promises he had made, avenging the murder of the man who meant more to her than anything else in the world, avenging the murder of her best friend. Naruto.
