Spider-man soared though the sky, high above the city. He swung from building to building with agility and speed. Tightly gripping his webbing, he swung across the street, landing gracefully on a flagpole. He crouched there for a moment, deep in thought. He was thinking of what his life would be like if he had never got these powers. What it would be like if he was never bit by that spider. He would be living happily and nothing would ever go wrong in his life.

But now, as the your friendly neighborhood Spider-man, he had troubles everyday. Trying to keep up his grades in high school, being yelled at by Jameson, and getting pounded by the latest super-villains are the least of his problems. Not to mention, trying to keep a steady relationship with Mary Jane Watson, the girl he has loved since the day she moved in next door.

Spider-man jerked away from his thoughts and looked at the city below. There was a police siren going off down at street level. He looked down and saw a police chase occurring. There were three police cars chasing a big black suburban. Spider-man immeadiatly reacted with perfect agility. He dove off the flagpole and plunged down to the streets below. When he reached street level, he shot a line of webbing at a street light and swung down the street after the police chase.

He caught up with the fugitive with no problem, but now was the tricky part. He had to stop the villain without getting anyone else hurt. He had done it before, so this wasn't that big of a deal. He dealt with police chases almost every day.

He swung down gracefully and slammed against the top of the fugitive's car. The fugitive swerved to the side of the street. He knew something had landed on top of the car. Spider-man slowly crawled to the windshield and punched through the glass. The fugitive, who was scared to death, pulled out a gun and fired. The bullet hit Spider-man in the arm, causing him to loose grip and fall onto the street. People shrieked as they watched their hero tumble across the side of the road. Spider-man got up slowly and shot a web line to the nearest stoplight. He jumped into the air and swung forward as fast as he could. When he swung high into the air, he let go and fell towards the street below. Timing it exactly perfect, he landed on top of the fugitives car.

The fugitive swerved to the side, heading towards a couple walking along the sidewalk. Just as they were about to hit them, Spider-man shot a web line at the couple and yanked them out of the way. The car kept driving, closing up on the Brooklyn Bridge which wasn't but a few yards away. The car sped to the edge of the bridge.

Suddenly, Spidey felt a tingle in the back of his neck. He looked through the car window and saw that the fugitive was unconscious with his foot on the pedal. Realizing the car was about to be hurled over the edge., Spider- man reacted as quickly as he could. He crawled to the window of the car and punched through the glass. Just then, the car fell over the edge and was lunging toward the water. Spider-man grabbed the guy and jumped out of the car just as it hit the water. He quickly shot a web line towards the bridge and hung there with the criminal in his arms, just a few feet away from the water.

"Whew! That was close!" Spider-man sighed.
