Whrrrrrrrrrr….

Hinata looked up. She didn't like planes. It reminded her of her mother, who was currently flying up there with them. Forever. Today was the anniversary of her mother's death. Currently standing in front of the grave were many of her relatives, friends and parents.

"Hinata-sama"

She looked up. It was Neji, her older cousin.

"Ah…N-Neji." She stammered.

Part of her annoyance with herself was her inability to speak without saying a given word more than once. Her father had often remarked it was a strange habit, considering no-one in the Hyuuga family had been less than courteous to her.

Neji stepped quietly in front of her and dropped a white rose gently on the grave. It added to the large pile that was quickly building. White roses reflected in white eyes. White eyes looking at a white gravestone. White gravestone against a white, snowy background.

It was almost stiflingly perfect. Clear and white, the mark of the Hyuuga clan.

Hinata excused herself as her family members began to disperse. She would've waited a little longer, but the overwhelming amount of perfection quenched any desire to stay. She would come back later.

The sun was setting and the earth was covered in a fresh blanket of snow when she finally reached the grave that evening. Everything was as normal, the cover of beautiful white roses was still there. Except for one thing. The mountain of flowers were slighted by one imperfection. A single black rose lay on top.

The wind blew, lifting the petals gently off the white roses, twirling them around in the chilly air before lightly dropping them down on the ground. White rose petals swirled around Hinata. She watched the scene unfold with fascination. The stems of the other white roses now faded into the background.

As her back was turned, the black rose was lightly lifted by pale fingertips, and tucked neatly into the dark folds of her hair. Hinata started, mind snapping out of the magical view. She turned, but whoever the person was, they were gone.

Whrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr……………..

Hinata looked up from her book. Planes had been flying around a lot lately. She sighed. It was no use continuing to pretend to read. She took a bookmark from her table and walked off. The bookmark was a pressed black rose.
