A/N: I did actually write this on Valentine's Day...just haven't had the time to upload it until now, to be honest.

Happy Valentine's Day 3

~KeedaxEmry

He wrapped the box up in a tight, shiny ribbon, feeling unnerved and anxious beyond belief. His hands gripped the small, heart-shaped container as if some invisible monster would attack if his fingers loosened the tiniest bit.

This is so cliché, he thought, forcing himself to go to the door. Just do it, Axel, he thought. Just do it.

His knuckles rasped on the door, and the box was quickly hidden behind his back.

To his horror, the person who answered was not a certain moody blonde but this certain moody blonde's mother.

"Um…um…" Axel stuttered, embarrassed.

"Hello Axel," the woman said cheerfully. "Happy Valentine's Day!"

"Yeah. You too." He cleared his throat awkwardly. "Is Roxas home?"

Axel wasn't sure, but he thought that her eyes narrowed in suspicion for a split second. He almost panicked, thinking that it had gotten out, that he was an idiot for coming, that Roxas was going to kill him. Then her face cleared, and she smiled. "Yes, he is. We were just making cookies." At that, she opened the door further and let Axel enter.

And there Roxas was in the kitchen. His hair disheveled, his face flushed, his eyes lit up happily. He was wearing a white apron, and he turned towards the sound of footsteps, a hunk of dough being busily molded by his hands.

He beamed upon seeing Axel. "Here to pig out?" he asked.

"You know it," Axel grinned, leaning against the wall to further hide the box.

"I'm going to take your father out to lunch," Roxas' mom said. "You'll be alright here?"

"Yeah," Roxas replied. "I'll finish this up."

"Ok. Bye you two," she said before promptly disappearing.

"Soo," Axel straightened while Roxas continued to fill a silver tray with little balls of dough.

"Soo," Roxas repeated. He thought that he knew what was coming, and he smiled subconsciously, stealing a peak at Axel.

"Soo, I got you this."

And with that, the box was unveiled. Roxas took it, shooting a slightly confused, although pleased, look towards Axel.

"Really?" he asked. "Chocolates?"

"That's what you think," Axel said ambiguously.

Now thoroughly suspicious, the bow was ripped off. Inside was a single piece of paper. Roxas slowly picked it up, and set the container aside. It was blank. "That was exciting," Roxas said dryly, turning it over to expose the other side. Nothing there.

Axel laughed. "Open it!"

A humiliated Roxas proceeded to do so; the paper was folded up multiple times, to the point where Roxas grew frustrated and began yanking on it to try to unfold it quicker. Axel snickered, obviously amused at the sight. Suddenly Roxas froze, staring down at the paper. Then he bursted into tears, falling into Axel.

"What's wrong?" Axel asked, aghast. He grabbed Roxas' shoulders to steady him as Roxas looked up. Salty rivers ran down his cheeks freely, but he was smiling.

"I...thought...that..." he managed.

"Roxas?" Axel asked cautiously.

"I thought that you were…were kidding," Roxas laughed, somewhat bitterly, "last week, when…"

"No, silly," came the tender response.

Axel wiped Roxas' tears away. He stole a quick, gentle kiss, their first kiss, causing Roxas to blush like mad and whisper Axel's name.

Roxas wrapped his arms around Axel's torso, clinging to him, and Axel rested his chin on the top of Roxas' head, pressing the boy to his chest. They seemed to be frozen, because it was a long time before either of them moved. They both wanted this single moment to last a lifetime.

All the while, Roxas clutched that piece of paper which read

I love you
