I'll be Home for Christmas

AN: Merry Christmas, everyone! And I hope you all like this story. My sister Jane Glass edited this for me. So, thanks Jane! :)

Message from Jane: Rob forgot to mention, but their are MAJOR SPOILERS in this! Don't read this if you don't want spoilers!

Artemis was lying in bed trying to sleep, but it felt impossible, especially after she had woken up from that nightmare. Every night was like that ever since that day…the day Wally sacrificed himself for the world.

She sat up, wiping tears from her face. Shivering, she took off the covers, and then she slowly stood up and walked over to the window, crossing her arms.

The sun was coming up at this point, not that Artemis could really tell with all the snow and clouds. Tears streamed down Artemis face as she picked up a picture of her and Wally that was on a desk next to the window.

Today would be her first Christmas without Wally…and soon it would be her first year without him.

Artemis looked down at a knife on her desk and slowly picked it up. She shook her head and put the knife back down as she realized what she was just thinking about doing. She knew she had to be strong. Wally would want her to.

She took a few steps back from the window as more tears formed in her eyes. "Oh, Wally…!" Artemis cried, crumbling down to her knees as she began sobbing.

That was when strong arms pulled Artemis into a hug.

Assuming it was Rudy, she began crying into his chest. Rudy and Mary often came to make sure Artemis was alright or to comfort her, if they needed to.

Artemis always felt guilty though…it was hard on them too….

"Hey, don't cry. I'm here now."

Artemis gasped as she heard the soft voice she had been dying to hear for a long time. She looked up, and stared in shock at the bright green eyes of Wally West.

"How…?" Artemis asked, feeling dazed, like she was dreaming, but she hoped she wasn't.

"Can we talk about it later? Right now I was hoping I could just spend some time with my girlfriend." Wally said with a soft smile.

Artemis smiled and quickly leaned up to kiss Wally, who returned the soft, but eager kiss.

Wally backed up after what seemed like forever, but a very wonderful forever, "Merry Christmas, Artemis."

Artemis laughed, feeling extremely happy, and pulled Wally into another hug.
