Pokemon Dark Quartz
Prologue
"NOOO! I can't believe it... You actually did it... You monster!" Opal screamed at the man in black. This man had bushy reddish orange hair that looked almost like a mane. In fact, this man was almost like a lion. His appearance and fierceness showed it. Opal didn't like a single bit of it, or what had happened. She felt as though an arrow had gone through her chest. One of her friends was dead. And if not dead, then lost. Forever.
"He got what he deserved. He bargained, and payed the price." The main simply said to the woman, who was beyond tears. It was as if you had gone to school, had a wonderful day and then came back to find that all of your belongings had been burned. A sudden pain, at first impossible to believe, but then unbearable.
"He never deserved any of this! he was a good person! He was ten times more than the shit you are! She screamed, the ground below her wet with tears rolling down, her eyes sore. She glanced at the people behind her, her other friends. An older man, in his thirties, two female friends, and an old couple, were slowly crying with her. The man that fell through the portal that day- he was no ordinary man. Each of the members of their team had a special connection with him, even though they weren't aware of it. "I HATE YOU! DIE!" Opal took out a ball; it looked like a capsule with a black top and white bottom and a special yellow design on it. To most in that world, it meant an Ultra Ball. She hurled it onto Lysandre's face, and the capsule stopped a couple meters away from him, turning white and opening as a large dragon-like fire beast appeared. "Charizard, use Flamethrower!" In a flash, the monster breathed fire, and this fire became strong and was to land on the man. However, he had backup. He also grabbed a similar capsule from his pocket, except it was blue and red. He released another Pokemon, which he acknowledged. "Pyroar, use Crunch!" The fire lion, unfortunately for Lysandre, missed. In a matter of seconds. He was out cold.
"Opal, let's go." One of the female friends, the black haired one, was talking in between her weeping. "NO! I CAN'T! I can't leave him.." Opal didn't want to be comforted, all she wanted was space and for this man to return. Without him, the world's fate may fall into the hands of those who do not deserve it.
"We have no choice Opal. You must take his place. You're the only one." The man in the couple said. He was at least fifty years of, his brown hair with specks of white. His wife, blonde but pale in terror, was clutching his hand very tightly. She had experienced the wrath of this man before, and he was not to be trifled with. She looked traumatized. With a sigh, Opal nodded, and they piled out of the room.
She took a good look at the portal before shutting the machine off. She was on her way to the exit door when her black haired friend cam back in. She felt the need to go with her friend. "Why did you come back?" Opal said between her sobs. Crystal was solemn, with eyes sore but expression unchanged. She simply said, "I did what I did." Crystal walked over to Opal and hugged her. Opal was horrified. She realized she never wanted to get out. She'd stay there forever, rotting as she waited for someone, something that would never come, no matter how much she prayed to Arceus. It would be impossible.
"He's gone Opal. You know we have to keep looking for Arnold." Crystal said to her. Opal knew she was right. Arnold, whether alive or dead, needed to be found. Korono was counting on them. Everyone was counting on them.
Sad thoughts raced through Opal's head. What would happen in the real world? What would his parents think when they learn she was the indirect cause of his death? She was speechless. She didn't know what to think anymore. They're experience as kids would haunt them forever. The war was over, but evil still lingered. This lion of a man defined it. He had been the reason their lives had been in misery and that the Pokemon world cannot be left in the hands of a single entity, although responsible. The last time it happened... things didn't go so well.
Lysandre was vicious and cruel. His fire type Pokemon and his "Team Flare" had previously failed to take over a nearby region in the north. Apparently he came by to have a visit of his old friend, the same fifty year old man. He and his wife were utterly tormented by the resulting conflict, and so their lives ruined. He established an evil organization that took over the region and killed millions of trainers. Opal's mother was an unfortunate casualty. She will never forget the moment her looked him in the eye and stood her ground, not wanting to surrender her Pokemon. Opal's seven year old mind was shattered forever.
Opal had tried her best to keep her feelings within and not to think about it too much, but her entire life was a mess. She just wanted to start over. But she couldn't. She knew how, but if she did, nothing would be the same.
When their mission would end, she would find the man, the one who had fallen into the portal. She would never stop looking. Ever.
