Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, Marluxia/Namine & you can ('t) get over this infection

They say that there is a witch in Castle Oblivion; a witch that can play with memories.

It intrigues you.

The girl is frail, all bird bones and sad, blue eyes. She rarely smiles.

And, when she does, it is not for you (but for him, XIII).

She likes fairy-tales and happy endings.

In particular, she likes stories that involve a normal girl—who is, secretly, a princess—in an impenetrable tower, an evil sorceress, and a boy so very willing to save her (this prince with key-shaped blade and sky-blue eyes).

Every night, you leave it hanging at the end, telling her: Next time.

And when that time comes along, you tell her that they all don't live happily ever after.

The Witch, in the end, wins and with her death, they all die. Happily Ever After.

You try not to look into her eyes, because something inside you tells you that in the place where your heart should be—but isn't—it would hurt.

It takes too long for you to realize that she infects you. Always, in your head (and you think that if you had a heart, she'd infect that, too).
You can get over this infection (when, in reality, you can't).

Author's Note: A quick update before I am, officially, grounded for the rest of the summer (presuming if my mother is as vindictive as I thought). Check profile for updates if you are so compelled.

The major gripe I have with this piece--although, all in all, I love it to pieces--is that the title kinda-sorta doesn't fit. It's just, you would kind of need a heart in order for this phobia to work (name it, and I'll love you for always). Which, sadly, neither of them do, infact, posess.

(Also, Raihu, I am so sorry I haven't gotten that Larxene/Namine fic done. I am really, really sorry. Forgive me? I'll dedicate it to you as a peace offering of sorts when I'm officially off the hook. Like August or some-such.)
