Lifeless, gold orbs stared up at him.

Her body laid limp in his arms as he carried her to safety.

"Purple Head, how did you find me?" Rima's voice was soft from her weak state.

"I walk by here everyday." He answered her with a sad smile as if it had become too painful to walk this path.

"Shouldn't you be sucking face with my best friend?" The small blond asked him, sarcastically.

"No, contrary to what you believe, I don't love her that way." His unspoken words were: I love you though.

She did not seem to notice his feelings for her; she never did, and it was difficult for Nagi to explain that he loved her despite the ever present insults that he received just by being near her.

"Are you capable of loving anyone?" She sneered weakly at him.

"Of course." He smiled at her.

She rolled her eyes at him before closing her eyes.

"Don't fall asleep on me now." Nagi spoke softly as if to hide his worry.

She sighed, "I can't know."

Nagihiko carried her gently in to the hospital.

The receptionist immediately called for a doctor to tend to Rima.

Nagihiko signed the paperwork as the doctors came and took Rima away.

He waited patiently for someone to tell him where to go and what to do as he had finished the paperwork that couldn't dispel his worry.

Eventually, they sought him out to tell him that she could see him now and that her surgery had went well.

"Do you want me to call anyone?" Nagi sighed as he sat down by her bed.

"No, not really." Rima stared at him.

"Alright, I won't." He could uphold that promise.

"Wait, call Amu." She gave him a steady look that told him that if he called anyone but Amu that he'd be in huge trouble.

Nagihiko picked up his cellphone and dialed up Amu's number to inform her of Rima's condition.

Amu freaked out with worry though it would take a while before she could make it the hospital.

Rima gave him an exasperated look when she heard him tell her that when he was finally speaking with her again after the phone call that he'd just been on had ended.

He ignored the insults that were sent his way after he'd told her that Amu would be a while.

Rima did heal with time, and Amu did show up much later than what Rima would have expected her to do.

May be things would be become better for Rima as well as Nagihiko as time passed from this one incident that seemed to tell of several upcoming incidents.

Nagi spent his time taking care of Rima this way whenever something bad happened and even when it didn't.

He couldn't not care about her or what happened to her, so it was pointless to say that he didn't care when he spent so much of his time taking care of her and being there for her even when she could be downright cruel to him.

It would be much later before his feelings were returned, but it was definitely worth the long wait to finally hold her and kiss her.
