Dawn Hideaki was walking down the street of the busy city she lived in. there were bill boards, signs, and flyers everywhere about "Death Note". Dawn chuckled to herself as she passed one of these signs, her shinigami trailing and floating behind her.

"what's so funny…?" her shinigami Noru asked. Her voice was monotone and sounded like two voices mixed together.

"Heh, nothing." Dawn said still walking. "I just can't believe this Death Note crap." she answered her giggling fit starting up again. She smiled, she just felt giddy, too giddy for her liking. It was as if she knew something good was going to happen, but didn't know what, and all at the same time it irked her.

Dawn was girl at the age of 17. She had long brown hair that went a little past her shoulders with a few blue streaks in it on the left side of the strands. She had blue green eyes that shined and gleamed at the slightest 'touch' of the sun. and her skin was pale, almost identical to a vampire's. other people saw her as emo and Goth. She was Goth. Simple as that.

A strap was hooked to her belt. the strap was connected to what looked like a fish netted book cover and inside it was her Death Note, but covering her Death Note was a pure black book cover as well.

Her shinigami had long black hair and a blindfold over her eyes. She wore what looked like a long sleeved jacket with a furry hood and skinny jeans and black boots, and her wings looked as if they were dragon wings, they were also black and red, and her skin was as white as snow and paper.

"but…you have a death note.." Noru said.

"hn, I know. But…heh I don't know." Dawn said. Her chuckles had died down and all that was left was a smirk plastered over her lips.

"you haven't wrote…a name in the death note for a long time…Dawn-san." Noru said slowly, her voice still monotone. She kept her place still trailing behind Dawn.

"what 5 years?" Dawn asked smiling sheepishly. Dawn reached into her back pocket and pulled out a manga book. "I have other good things to read, besides names…" she said trailing off, beginning to look down at the book, reading the panels from right to left.

Dawn's eyes scanned over the pages. Then Dawn collided with someone, causing her book to fall out of her hands and onto the side walk. Dawn quickly leaned down and picked up the book and stood right back up. "I'm so sorry." she said, finally looking up at the person she bumped into. The person had long black hair that went down to his shoulders and had reddish and purplish colored eyes………….

((a/n: yay for death note fan fictions!! Can you guess who it was that she bumped into?))
